PS3 Firmware Update 2.40 to add in-game XMB menu
Sony is well underway with the release of the PlayStation 3 Firmware Update 2.40. It’s estimated to be ready for download sometime in June 2008.
PS3 Firmware 2.40 promises to add some of the most requested features, most notably it will add an in-game XMB menu. Expect more details in the coming weeks. [added on June 18] The update will also include “trophies,” as well as some other new enhancements.
New features will include:
* A universal friends list;
* In-game messaging;
* Soundtracks support.
