Saints Row 2 delayed to October 14th, 2008

THQ has delayed the release date of Saints Row 2 (Xbox 360, PS3) by two months — from August 26th to October 14th — due to product quality and marketing considerations.

Saints Row 2, an action game featuring gangsters roaming an open world, is a key part of THQ’s bid to turn around its business, according to THQ’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing Bob Aniello. This after the company was hit last year by sluggish sales of other titles, reports Reuters

Maybe they need to polish up Saints Row 2′s co-op some more? Being able to play through the entire single player campaign in online co-operative mode definitely sets it apart from Grand Theft Auto IV‘s recent release.

Since it is delayed THQ should find out some way to have cross play with the Xbox 360 and PS3. That way they could make easy money on both systems. I also think that they should make a cover system similar to GTA 4. I think that covering is the new genre of open-world. Aside from cross play, keep everything up because the game sounds like it would be great.

You know Dominic, that’s so true, it would be the first game to do cross-platform gaming on consoles. I do believe they are using the extra time to improve their game after having seen GTA 4.

stavy SR2 V.S. GTA4

GTA 4 was a bust they took so much out from San Andreas till then. the customization,flying planes, getting tattoos, lifting weights….all the fun stuff. if your gonna create a game like that dont take out your previous enhancements! ya get something new in there but the old stuff kicked a@@. Saints Row is coming back with the same customizations, and the same fun stuff from 1 and i cant wait till its released! GTA4 is gonna be outsold by millions of $$$$
