Devil May Cry 5 on Capcom’s mind. Devil May Cry 4 record sales of 2 million make plans all but certain

Devil May Cry 4 producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi said back at E3 2007 that he wanted to make Devil May Cry 5 if Capcom let him. This week Capcom president Haruhiro Tsujimoto announced in a press release that Capcom’s fiscal year 2008 sales increased to over 83 billion Yen ($806 million), in part thanks to Devil May Cry 4’s record sales of over 2 million units worldwide since its early February 2008 release, making it the fastest selling Devil May Cry game so far and taking the entire series from 7 to 9 million sold*. It now seems all but certain Capcom wants a sequel with Mr. Tsujimoto closing off the PR by saying “We hope to continue meeting and exceeding the expectations of gamers with our dedication to developing solid titles for the best gaming platforms available.”

To quote Capcom producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi’s words from last year: “Continuing the storyline is always possible. However, we do work under a corporate system, so unless Capcom gives us the green light to go ahead and continue on with releasing Devil May Cry 5, 6, 11, whatnot. It’s totally up to them.

However, personally I would like to continue with Devil May Cry and create more and more games for this franchise. Devil May Cry 4 has turned out to be a very cool-looking stylish game for those that have a PS3 or a [Xbox] 360. If you don’t buy Devil May Cry 4 you would think ‘Why didn’t I buy it?’ There’s no worth of having a PS3 or [Xbox] 360 without Devil May Cry 4. That’s the kind of game it’s going to turn out to be.”

O, man ……… even if thier is a devil may cry 11 i’ll b the first one who buy it ,however i’ve liked the 3rd one more than the 4th one ( music, combat skills, devil arms, guns, the story )

hey 24 devil may cry 3 was a prequil and in the first devil may cry game dante fights and kill his brother when the demon world is open again. and as for the sword i think that might be the premisis for the new devil may cry 5. just a guess though

its very simple dante will knock out nero just as easily as he took out the big massive last boss in DMC2 but why not have both nero and vergil in 5 and it has to be super awsome cus its DMC right. and why not have 2 devil triggers dont forget the awsome clothes and leave the rebellion as it is. nero needs to get his own swords instead of taking vergils and they should be a twist like the demon world is opend again and everyone you ever fought is back for revange!! also dmc 1+3 will beat 4 easily thts all im sayin

DMC5 wil come out 100% i mean its one of the most popular games ever and the story lines are endless like what happened to sparda and what happened to vergil and dante when they where kids why is neros devil triger so mutch like vergils why does nero have devil bringer why is dante shitty in DMC2 and mutch mutch more and i hope there will be DMC100
nero is ok but DANTE is why people play DMC and he must be a main character in DMC5 only vergil is cool as dante witch means he must be in it

If DMC5 is on capcom’s mind i’d hope they bring back the original enemies and bosses
from DMC1 just have them with new and improved powers perhaps even new bodies
here are just a few that i hope to see if DMC5 is on capcom’s mind.

Griffon, scythe, the bloody puppets, mundus of course because he created all these minions from the underworld

Also, explain what happened to virgil? in DMC3 and also lucia from DMC2 whatever happened to her? i’d know she was a creation of arius, and arius ambition was to obtain power from the argosax, whatever that was i need somone to explain that to me.
