Civilization V: Revolution preview by Sid Meier

Civilization Revolution for Xbox 360Sid Meier’s fifth Civilization turn-based strategy game is called Civilization Revolution and will appear on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and DS in America on June 3rd and in Europe / Australia on June 6th, 2008.

The game gives you a chance to experience the epic empire-building world of Civilization in an all new accessible, visually immersive, and action-packed world specifically designed for the console and handheld gamer. There are 16 civilizations to master and lead to victory, with an array of famous historical leaders to play as or compete against, and accessible maps and streamlined time scale for quicker games, intense combat, and constant action.

In multiplayer mode, players will compete for world conquest and glory among their peers as they battle in teams, head-to-head or epic free-for-all matches. In addition, auto-matching, ranked games, leaderboards, achievements, downloadable extra content and integrated video and voice chat make the online play more versatile and fun than any previous version of Civilization and will allow players to see where they stand against the competition. Finally, the position of ruler of the world can be settled online.

That looks so cool. I’ve always been a huge fan of Sid Meier games. Although not mentioned in the article, I’m assuming that this game is coming out on PC as well?

As Sid said in the interview: they aren’t abondoning the PC platform, but they are spreading their games out to more platforms, and we got Beyond the Sword expansion for PC, so they think we’re even.. but we aren’t.. I want Civ:Revolution for PC also!! :D

I know this is kind of late, but it is not Civilization V…it is Civilization IV ported to the Console market. Calling it Civilization V is very misleading, more so since Civilization V is in the works right now :O
