Dragon Ball Online beta delayed to end 2008-2009. English language release possible in America and Europe

The PC fantasy Massive Multiplayer Online RPG “Dragon Ball Online” takes place on Earth, 216 years after the events at the conclusion of the Dragon Ball Z manga series. Saiyans no longer exist in this Age 1000 world, but you will be able create Human, Namekian, and Majin characters to play as. Don’t worry attacks like Kienzan and Kamehameha are still in the game, and as the Dragon Ball Online videos show, you’ll still be able to see Saiyans during Timemachine Quests: These quests have Time Patrol Trunks guide you as you travel back in time to take part in important moments of Dragon Ball history.

The Dragon Ball Online beta test was supposed to begin in South Korea in the summer of 2007, but development was delayed by a year, so the beta is currently scheduled to go live in Korea by the end of 2008, and in Japan in 2009. No American and European releases have been announced yet, although in a Dragon Ball Online press conference held in South Korea on February 14th, 2008, Dragon Ball Online developer NTL expressed interest in releasing the game to a worldwide audience with Bandai Korea president, Yosiaki Emoto, saying: “As for the MMORPG market in Japan and Europe and America, they are still young and distant. It makes the flow of where to start easy, from a new game in Korea it keeps spreading to the entire world… Dragon Ball Online [in South Korea] is only the beginning, we are convinced of that.”

Fans of the series should be happy to hear that series creator Akira Toriyama has a great deal of creative control over the project, aside from completely ignoring Dragon Ball GT, he contributes and supervizes the story and art design, including character and location arrangements. In fact, it’s been stated that Mr. Toriyama has been working on character designs for this project for the last five years.

Here are the game’s races and character classes:
HUMAN:
* Martial Artist — Fighters who specialize in martial arts, comparable to characters like Yamucha or Tenshinhan.
* Spiritualist — Mystics who specialize in spiritual, ki-based techniques.
* Engineer — Mechanics and inventors who build weapons and utilize technology, much like Bulma.

NAMEKIAN:
* Dragon Clan — Members of the Namekian support caste which have abilities including healing, such as Dende or Kami.
* Warrior — Members of the Namekian warrior caste, which includes Piccolo and Nail.

MAJIN:
* Strange Majin — Slender, evil-looking Majin who have a similar appearance to Majin Buu’s original, pure form.
* Large Majin — Fat, happy-looking Majin who resemble Majin Buu’s good form.

If any updates come to anyone’s attention, please post them. I’ve been looking all over for news of a beta release in Korea (I’m in canada), but I still can’t find one. Having it release in korea would shine a ray of hope on it being released here.

So please guys, any links or info on release, post it! : )

LoL, everyone speaks about, WTF no Saiyajins? Overpowered? tell you what, look at the humans, their SaiyaJins alike, it wouldnt suprice me that becouse of the halfbreeds and all the SaiyaJins became humans, verry strong ones that still have the ability to turn Super SaiyaJin’s.

As for overpowered?? did we all forgot about namekians turning into super namekians and wer originaly stronger than saiyajins?

And about their strengths againsts majins? well Vegeta was put to Majin once, and that took the uge difference in powers away, not to mention it took about 100 episodes to defeat a real Majin.

So there you have it, i hope this info will take all doubts away, and that you’re all able to think further then just names. Furthermore, last i read the game will propably be P2P so get your creditcards, prepaidcards, paypal and alike ready just in case. as for when the game comes out, well its been so quiet around that game lately, and well we all know that when a game release date is announced it’ll take about 3-6 months anyways. but seeing that Gundam Online is also for korea, japan & chineze only i doubt they’ll go US & EU.

and besides, a SaiyaJin Race would never realy disapear, they keep fighting and keep getting stronger, just like humans for that mather. i think the creators desided to call them human’s becouse they realy live on planet earth, i doubt all the namekians desided to live on planet earth, and well the majins are propably still being made outside planet earth. and besides, after the Shadow dragon realy desided to put an end to things you saw vegeta accepting planet earth as his homeplanet, since he was the prince of all SaiyaJins that would make him a Earthling from that point on.

as for the overpowered subject again. Nappa easely killed Piccolo when he was seperated from kami, but when Vegeta turned into a Super SaiyaJin he got mad becouse he knew that when Piccolo turned into a Super Namekian that he was stronger than Vegeta even as a Super SaiyaJin.
now onto the SaiyaJins VS Majin Buu, it took 2 Fusions, 1 fusion from Goten & Trunks, eventualy both being Super SaiyaJin 3, they couldnt even defeat the 2nd Stage Buu, and even when Goku & Vegeta Fused they might have been stronger than Buu, but Vegeta had to rip out all pods before they (Somehow) Defeated the 2nd Stage Buu, Eventualy Kid Buu, Goku had to rely on all energy of the entire planet’s energy, including Gohan, Goten, Trunks, Piccolo, Vegeta & Videl, and then he even had to go Super SaiyaJin before he was able to Defeat Kid Buu.

So this concludes the Human Role. They are SaiyaJin’s, and totaly not Overpowered for as far as i can tell, besides, i doubt SSJ 4 Goku would faire against a Fused Super Majin & Super Namekian :P:P

As for what i hope for, seeing we’re gonna timetravel, me against a whole Evil Force:
Brolly, Freezer, Cooler, King Cold, Garlick Jr. Evil king piccolo, Cell, the Androids, Baby, Evil Dragons, and after i defeated them all toghetter i’m becomming the One and only Dark Side of the SaiyaJin’s you better join my force then, I Got Cookies

BTW I know youre all to familiar with the US Version of DragonBall, DragonBall Z & DragonBall GT (All start with DragonBall..henceforth the title DragonBall Online), But its SaiyaJin and not Saiyan.

i think it is good they’re no saiyens because then everyone would be one. I should chose for strange majin because kid buu was realy strong and almost invincebel so stop complening. Does it coms out on XBOX 360?

has a DBZ story ingame. u can compare it with Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO) so the story of DBZ is in it for parts, and if u have seen the youtube movies it had sayians with sayians outfits in it so my gues is that there will deffinitly have sayians in it. and its our quest to re-do the story of DBZ only this time online and together with other players

Hi all. i have been searching info for this game for some days, i found alot of topis in many mmorpg blogs websites whatever. i just realised no1 knows about any official and precisly release date for Europe or for the US.some peeps told it would be released on 2007 then on 2008 bla bla bla and we are in 2009 and not any clue about the game. Honestely it just sucks big time that the company(bandai?Nlt?still dont know) who is working on this game dont post any kind of information of this game. the offical website its written on japanese / Korean and its imposible to understand anything.i start to bealive this game will not be releaed and i hate to be pessimist but i dont find a way the be optimist after so damn speculation about DBZonline

Drowy, just wanted to re-cap what you were saying in your posts. um….though your points are valid you have to also look at the difference of power levels here. Yeah Nappa defeated Piccalo but look at how strong he was compared to him. Also take note….while gohan was in his training..he did mention somewhere down the line that even He wasnt ready to fight the Saiyans when they arrived.

About Majin Buu. Vegeto could have killed him very easily had he not been so arrogant. Even old kai mentiond that. Actually SSJ3 Gotenks could have killed him had he not been so lustful for battle.

Super nameks are powerful yes. but remember that was during a different time. lets put a super namek against an SSJ 1 Goku or an SSJ Vegeta. He would lose im pretty sure of it. or..if you want to get Technical….SSJ 2 I wont even go lvl 3 because that would be a cake walk for Goku. Kid Buu was very strong indeed. Goku was losing because he had already used a large amount of energy before he even transformed. yes..it took a spirit bomb to defeat him. think of it this way…Buu was basically created with evil negative energy..so what what would we destory him with..Positive energy right? oh and you doubt an SSJ 4 would fair against a fused majin or namek? please! majin maybe….maybe that would prove a challenge..but a fused super namek? im not too sure..remember ssj4 goku took on vegeta in his golden ozaru state when he was controlled by baby. a fused super namek wouldnt be too much of a bother for him.i dont know..maybe im wrong….but im just trying to understand your theory…
