Dragon Ball Online beta delayed to end 2008-2009. English language release possible in America and Europe

The PC fantasy Massive Multiplayer Online RPG “Dragon Ball Online” takes place on Earth, 216 years after the events at the conclusion of the Dragon Ball Z manga series. Saiyans no longer exist in this Age 1000 world, but you will be able create Human, Namekian, and Majin characters to play as. Don’t worry attacks like Kienzan and Kamehameha are still in the game, and as the Dragon Ball Online videos show, you’ll still be able to see Saiyans during Timemachine Quests: These quests have Time Patrol Trunks guide you as you travel back in time to take part in important moments of Dragon Ball history.

The Dragon Ball Online beta test was supposed to begin in South Korea in the summer of 2007, but development was delayed by a year, so the beta is currently scheduled to go live in Korea by the end of 2008, and in Japan in 2009. No American and European releases have been announced yet, although in a Dragon Ball Online press conference held in South Korea on February 14th, 2008, Dragon Ball Online developer NTL expressed interest in releasing the game to a worldwide audience with Bandai Korea president, Yosiaki Emoto, saying: “As for the MMORPG market in Japan and Europe and America, they are still young and distant. It makes the flow of where to start easy, from a new game in Korea it keeps spreading to the entire world… Dragon Ball Online [in South Korea] is only the beginning, we are convinced of that.”

Fans of the series should be happy to hear that series creator Akira Toriyama has a great deal of creative control over the project, aside from completely ignoring Dragon Ball GT, he contributes and supervizes the story and art design, including character and location arrangements. In fact, it’s been stated that Mr. Toriyama has been working on character designs for this project for the last five years.

HUMAN:
* Martial Artist — Fighters who specialize in martial arts, comparable to characters like Yamucha or Tenshinhan.
* Spiritualist — Mystics who specialize in spiritual, ki-based techniques.
* Engineer — Mechanics and inventors who build weapons and utilize technology, much like Bulma.

NAMEKIAN:
* Dragon Clan — Members of the Namekian support caste which have abilities including healing, such as Dende or Kami.
* Warrior — Members of the Namekian warrior caste, which includes Piccolo and Nail.

MAJIN:
* Strange Majin — Slender, evil-looking Majin who have a similar appearance to Majin Buu’s original, pure form.
* Large Majin — Fat, happy-looking Majin who resemble Majin Buu’s good form.

Why does everybody complain about not having saiyans at all these sites? People keep calling this DBZ Online, and thinking of it as DBZ, yes you should have saiyans, but this is NOT DBZ Online, it’s Dragonball Online. And I know I’m just about the only fan that favors Dragonball over Z, but this is Dragonball Online, Goku was just a special human in DB, so just stop complaining, there’s nothing we could do. And I do not hate saiyans, I just think a DB style needs to be like DB, not DBZ. I’m not posting this to affend anyone, but I’m hoping people actually try to see things from a DB kind of way, not DBZ.

Not having Saiyans is the best thing for this game. Sure, I would love to be able to power up, go super saiyan and kick the crapola out of everyone but so would everyone else.
What would be the point in playing a human, namekian or majin when you can be a saiyan? It’s a wise move by the developers and will make the game last longer. Also, it will stop all those whiners with their ‘Saiyans are too OP, this game sucks!’
I live in Europe, when we getting this? Also, would I be able to get an American version if that comes out first and play that instead?

Seems no one listened to me, it doesn’t have ssj, but the game needs for the humans to be strong, so they make them stronger then humans in DBZ,like they were in DB, did anyone else watch DB? There were no Saiyans, (Goku didn’t count yet,) at some points Krillen was stronger then him, or at least equal, as with Yamcha, but in Z they ignored them 80% of the time, so they wanted to have a reason to actually have them in the game, because the Saiyan blood, very VERY low by this time, makes them slightly stronger. Ssj not in game, but they are trying to show people why that doesn’t matter! No Saiyans will be in the game according with current info, but it doesn’t matter. I can’t find the right words to tell you, but I know why they did this and why it is a good thing. This is not DBZ online, when they make DBZ Online, THAT game will have Saiyans in it. This is DB online, it should feel like Dragonball, there were no Saiyons in DB, they just gave everyone some powers and made a unique show, DBZ can’t work, because each enimy got 1,000 times stronger then the next, and the people that were strong last episode was weak the next. No one but Goku got any real point for most of the series. I can’t find the words, but I hope someone knows what I’m trying to tell people. Ssj does not matter! Saiyons do not matter! Please stop saying that it will ruin this game. This cannot ruin DB online because these things were not in DB. IT CAN’T POSSIBLY RUIN A GAME IT SHOULDN’T BE IN! My main point is, please listen, THIS IS NOT A DRAGONBALL Z MMO!!! This is a Dragonball Mmo. Please, for once, some one listen!

and i understand u, and its true not having ssj will not ruin the game,what i think ur trying to say is that even the human raise can be as powerful as the sayain race if they are determined and willing to train as hard… is that what u think the DBO people are trying to say?

The humans cant be just as strong as sayajin or half-saysjin. There race gets stronger even if they get the snot kicked out of them.

Though I was truely dissapointed to see no SSJ and such I would still love to play this game.
