Ghostbusters (3): The Video Game release date is June 16th, 2009. Plus a video interview

Strap on that proton pack and get ready to be slimed, the Ghostbusters are back. The Ghostbusters (3): The Video Game release date worldwide is now set for June 16th, 2009, along with the Blu-ray release of the original movie.

The real Ghostbusters return in this videogame sequel to the Ghostbusters movies. Stars Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Bill Murray reunite to reprise their roles as Spengler, Stantz, Zeddmore and Venkman. Supporting the ghost busting crew are the talents of Annie Potts, Brian Doyle Murray and William Atherton.

With Manhattain newly overrun by ghosts and other supernatural creatures, it’s up to you to take on the role of a new recruit joining the original, famous Ghostbusters team. Equipped with a variety of unique weapons and gadgets, you will hunt, fight and capture a wide range of uncanny phantasms and demons in an all-new, funny and frightening battle to save New York City from its latest paranormal plague.

Watch a video interview with developer Terminal Reality’s president Mark Randel. He talks about the game’s history and the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game. Although its also coming to the Wii, PlayStation 2 and DS with more Ghostbusters cartoon-style graphics made by developer Red Fly Studio.

Does ANYONE know why the game’s release date has vanished into thin air? What’s going on - are they releasing it or not? Are they delaying it in anticipation for a possible Ghostbusters 3 film?

they publisher dropped the title and the developement team is waiting for a new publisher to pick it up.. sony says it will be out though for the 25th ann. in june i think 8 or10

you know i was eating my 4 Cheez Doritos, and on the back of the bag it said hey the new ghostbusters game is out you should go get it. i look to see if its out and its not. well at least we knew when it should have came out

Yea, Atari picked it back up, so the game will be coming out on the date that Matt said: June 16th 2009. It seems they put in a little more work into the game from what I’ve read since they’ve been sitting on the game for a little while waiting for a publisher. I am very excited to play this game!
