Wii Fit priced $90 and shown on Good Morning America

Wii Fit has already sold over 1.4 million times in JapanIn anticipation of the U.S. launch of Wii Fit, the new interactive fitness game for the popular Wii system, Nintendo of America has announced pricing details. Available starting on May 19th, Wii Fit and the innovative Wii Balance Board accessory will be bundled and sold together at a suggested retail price of $89.99. The European release is actually a little earlier on April 25th, priced €89,99 / £69.99.

Boasting a dynamic mix of more than 40 yoga, aerobics, strength training and balance activities, Wii Fit provides consumers with a fun, easy and affordable way to incorporate exercise into their daily routines. Using the included wireless Wii Balance Board accessory, every member of the household can step up and stay active, setting individual fitness goals and tracking their progress over time.

    Haha. I think it’s cool that at least Wii Fit got this kind of press. I think this is good for the “system” overall, because it shows other adults that it’s not “uncool” (for lack of a better term) to use Wii Fit as a fun tool to help them exercise, which is the whole goal really, as far as Nintendo is concerned.

    It’ll be really interesting though to see how Wii Fit sells here in the U.S. I hope Nintendo does a huge marketing push though, I think that’s critical.
