Pokemon Opal or Onyx coming to DS in 2008?

Pokemon Opal DS fake boxart The latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine CoroCoro has hinted at a new Pokemon game coming out later in 2008. It’s suggested to be a followup to Pokemon Diamond and Pearl that fans have dubbed Pokemon Opal or Onyx. Why? Because the third Diamond and Pearl legendary Pokemon Giratina was named after the opal gemstone Girasol. The magazine then continues by showing a timeline of the original games:

The timeline lists Pokemon: Red and Blue, Gold and Silver, Ruby and Sapphire, Diamond and Pearl, which then continues with their respective follow ups Pokemon Blue, Crystal, Emerald. It then leaves an open space in 2008 for this new follow up game, implying it’s the third version of the RPG Pokemon Diamond and Pearl.

Thanks! I don’t want to be typing like I used to when I get older so I started getting a grip now… And if there are any mistakes its because of me being to lazy to fix it or my dumb keys are… dumb.

I don’t think I’ll get Pokemon Opal/Onyx, this is what I don’t like about Pokemon games, they give you a game like Pokemon Diamond, then after a while they make a better game about it. I think thats a cheap way to get people to buy your games.

Josh, why do you care so much about peoples typing? I mean we ALL make mistakes, and its natural to not be perfect. like I hate people who read a lot! like my reading teacher. they read so annoying, most good readers have an annoying voice while reading, and I just get bored of it. I mean couldn’t they be a little less strict.

un…a new pokemon game would be good…
preferably a remake of pokemon crystal…
because it had two regions and also
because it was pretty original…
but onyx sounds weird because
well,its a pokemon.so the mascot would have to be a onyx right? and thats just weird.

Yeah, Crystal was good. Two regions (or more) are always fun. If it was named Onyx, it wouldn’t have to be of an Onix because lots of pokemon games have names that don’t match the pokemon on their cover.
