The American gaming magazine Nintendo Power is running a poll in their latest issue to find out what classic games gamers would most like to see appear on the Wii Virtual Console. Once the results are in the magazine will publish the Top 100 most requested titles. Since this is Nintendo’s official magazine, the company should be paying attention, so this is your best chance to get your word in.
To quote the Nintendo magazine’s request to its readers and you: “What classic games do you want to see come to Virtual Console? Send us up to five picks (only for systems currently represented on Virtual Console) at vcpoll@futureus.com. We’ll print results in an upcoming issue. Note: This is for polling purposes only, and will in no way determine future Virtual Console releases.”
My top 5 picks I emailed are:
1. Super Mario RPG (SNES)
2. Conker’s Bad Fur Day (N64)
3. Pilotwings 64 (N64)
4. Banjo-Kazooie (N64)
5. Earthbound (SNES)
Other games I’d like to see are: Star Fox 2 (SNES), Earthbound 64 (N64), Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon (N64), Space Station Silicon Valley (N64), Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island (SNES), Super Smash Bros. (N64), Super Mario Kart (SNES), Ninja Gaiden Trilogy (SNES), Zombies Ate My Neighbors (SNES), Super Mario Allstars (SNES), Mother (NES), Little Nemo the Dream Master (NES), Batman (NES), Blast Corps and other Rare games. Before you submit your five picks, check out this Virtual Console release list that shows what games are already “coming soon”.
I thought earthbound 64 never saw the light of day? I was waiting on that game for forever.
Tony: That’s right, but the main game sections were finished and playable for hours. I read this back in 2000 (in the 64DD’s last days) in an interview on Itoi’s official website.
The reason I pointed out EarthBound 64 (AKA Mother 3) and Star Fox 2 was because those games were unreleased but finished and would be perfect for emulation and release on the Wii Virtual Console.
chrono trigger??
Hi
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. My top 5 were
1. Super Mario RPG (SNES)
2. Secret of Mana (SNES)
3. Mario Paint (SNES)
4. Bubsy (SNES)
5. Krusty’s Super Fun House (SNES)
Now I think Nintendo knows everyone wants Super Mario RPG but, their is a problem with Square Enix owning the rights to the Character Geno and they won’t budge on something. Same with Secret of Mana I think Nintendo and Square Enix aren’t on the best of terms. So I put these down as most important.
As for Mario Paint that was just such a classic to me even if I wasn’t the best at it and needed the Strategy Guide for it. I would hope they bring it back out with the Strategy Guide
Now the Last 2 Bubsy & Krusty’s Super Funhouse. I picked them even though their not very popular just because they are less likely to be picked then Super Mario Kart which I know at some point will come out. Their is no doubt in my mind of that.
How about these?
