Super Smash Bros. Brawl 2 sequel in the head of series creator Masahiro Sakurai
Super Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai talked about a Super Smash Bros. Brawl 2 sequel at the Game Developers Conference 2008. It’s interesting to hear him say certain features like voice chat were left out because of Wii limitations, but that there were more not included features he thought about added, which he’d like to put in a sequel. What follows are the relevant interview quotes:
Question: What would be that one specific feature you wish you could have added?
Masahiro Sakurai answers: I feel like anything I’ve considered I’m probably going to think about when — I mean if — another game was to come out in the series and so I’d like to keep a lid on that for now. and not disclose anything I’ve been thinking about there.
Question: Have you done everything you can do with the Smash Bros. franchise now? In other words, can Wii owners look forward to a Super Smash Bros. Brawl sequel in the future?
Masahiro Sakurai answers: Well, the series has already had three iterations so I cannot say with one-hundred percent confidence that there won’t be any additional Smash Bros. games ever. But, at the same time I’d really like to note that I feel like with Brawl there are already so many modes and so much to do that it’s really hard to exhaust what you can do with this game. I’m really against the idea of merely creating a sequel that would add modes or increase the number of characters in the roster — all the sort of things that just simply fatten up the game. I’d like to avoid just doing that if a sequel ever came out.

this is what i think should happen in Brawl 2.
1st i think all melee characters should be put back in because ppl loved roy, mewtwo,and others.2nd,i think if more characters are added,they should be someone from streetfighter(preferably ryu and ken,because everyone loves them),and some ppl from capcom,(preferably wolverine,cyclops and gambit,because ppl mostly like them), along with other great characters.3rd,if theres any way to make the online better(so we dont have to get constantly disconnected and so we can add friends while online instead of fighting random ppl all the time because ppl like challenges),we should do dat.4th,i think while fighting,until death, they should start getting battle scarred.5th,i think since we have 4 directional buttons,we should have 4 taunts;and if two characters are near that have somthin 2 do wit each other(friend or foe),they should have a action taunt(like mario and luigi get back to back and hold 2 fingas up,or link and ganandworf clash with their swords then jump back).6th,i think clashing period should be in the game,in mid-air,on ground,and if one person is on the ground and the other is in the air.7th,i think everyone should have more than one final smash.I also think more than one should show up so that final smashes could clash too(like ike and links ore mario and samus’s)!!!8th, i think the ability to hang on to any part of the board(like in melee) should be put back into the game because sometimes automatically lockin onto the edge isn’t always efficient.9th, iwould like the c-stick to be used as the control and change stick………let me explain.what i mean by control stick is the ability to be able to control your assist trophies or pokemon.For example:you can tell them to help(if you get knock way off the boards,your assist trophie(ex:mew)would teleport and save you at the cost of his life,or defend mode,where if someone is shooting rounds of superscope at you,your assist or pokemon(ex:grey fox)would get in front of the fire and smack the bullet away,or attack mode………self explanatory.now for the change stick;i think ccertain ppl should have the ability to be able to switch up their fighting style in the middle of battle…example: like marth,instead of being able to control his assists or pokemon,he can change his style to more slightly slower but stronger attacks(at the tip of course),more fancy combos(like meta knight),or more counter offense,which he does perfectly.and for 10th, i wish people(if constantly hit with a melee weapon) in mid-air could stay in the air and have a good mid-air battle because everyone loves a mid-air battle………I know this was a-lot but i think its worth it.what do yaw think?
