Super Smash Bros. Brawl 2 sequel in the head of series creator Masahiro Sakurai

Super Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai talked about a Super Smash Bros. Brawl 2 sequel at the Game Developers Conference 2008. It’s interesting to hear him say certain features like voice chat were left out because of Wii limitations, but that there were more not included features he thought about added, which he’d like to put in a sequel. What follows are the relevant interview quotes:

Question: What would be that one specific feature you wish you could have added?
Masahiro Sakurai answers: I feel like anything I’ve considered I’m probably going to think about when — I mean if — another game was to come out in the series and so I’d like to keep a lid on that for now. and not disclose anything I’ve been thinking about there.

Question: Have you done everything you can do with the Smash Bros. franchise now? In other words, can Wii owners look forward to a Super Smash Bros. Brawl sequel in the future?
Masahiro Sakurai answers: Well, the series has already had three iterations so I cannot say with one-hundred percent confidence that there won’t be any additional Smash Bros. games ever. But, at the same time I’d really like to note that I feel like with Brawl there are already so many modes and so much to do that it’s really hard to exhaust what you can do with this game. I’m really against the idea of merely creating a sequel that would add modes or increase the number of characters in the roster — all the sort of things that just simply fatten up the game. I’d like to avoid just doing that if a sequel ever came out.

Does anyone know about that japan-only game for the D.S About a cute little yellow star? Although I’m not sure what attacks he/she could have it would be kinda cool!

I think super smash for the D.S would be cool.
Although the graphics may not be as great as the wiis it would be fun using the bottom screen for something unique or just to watch my fight on both screens! I could play it all the time, anywhere! Ah, to think i could support Wi-Fi too! They should invent this Supa, then i won’t be bored on the old, smelly, bus when going to school!

It would be cool to have a second ssbb but what i’m afraid of is that they again might not put in characters that were expected to be in the first ssbb.

Would it be stupid they had me in the game? Judging that the characters and the graphics look hyperrealistic? But it’s only possible if i were to make my own ssbb game which i can’t. Especially because it took a development team to develop for 6 years the ssbb game. Plus i can’t do it by myself otherwise it’ll probably take 20 years to study,draw,develop,and put it into action.

If i were to make SSBB2 i would put games modes like Independent Special Brawl, where 4 characters stand and you get to choose which condition would you put on one like one character is Metal the second one is Giant, the third one has Stamina, and the fourth one is invisible. And i would put better music from games like from 007 Goldeneye or 1080 Snowboarding

If I were to make a second sequel to super smash bros. brawl, ALL characters from the the original on N64, melee AND brawl would be added thus also bringing back the old stages like hyrule castle, planet zebes, and other classic smash bros. stages. Melee stages included.

And plus new features like voice chat and other stuff.
As far as newcomers go, I would probably add King K. rool from the donkey kong series, krystal from star fox, Sylux from metroid prime hunters and DEFINETLY geno from super mario RPG. And I would throw in some more third party guest characters like mega man X, Zero, or any form he has. Lloyd irving from tales of symphonia, Rayman or the prince of persia. And DARE I DREAM……Ryu Hayabusa from the ninja gaiden series, because like snakes metal gear games his games also originated on two nintendo systems.

At least that would be a smasbros. game we all dream about that’s for sure.

If i made a new ssbb i would put in 6 new Charicters like “Paper Mario” with has been around for a long time, AND IF THEY ADD Sonic they should of add “Tails”, And if u have ever played “Lost in the Blue 1&2″ u would agere that “Jack” sould be in it, And I Know people may not know How “Banjo & Kazooi” are so I’ll tell u, he is a bear with and bird in his backpack and his last game was on the N64, and if u dont agree with me thats fine but I would add that “Link transformation in to a Wolf” like he did in Twilight Princess But with out Midni on his back, and last but not least “Ray Man”. I’m out.
