Super Smash Bros. Brawl 2 sequel in the head of series creator Masahiro Sakurai

Super Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai talked about a Super Smash Bros. Brawl 2 sequel at the Game Developers Conference 2008. It’s interesting to hear him say certain features like voice chat were left out because of Wii limitations, but that there were more not included features he thought about added, which he’d like to put in a sequel. What follows are the relevant interview quotes:

Question: What would be that one specific feature you wish you could have added?
Masahiro Sakurai answers: I feel like anything I’ve considered I’m probably going to think about when — I mean if — another game was to come out in the series and so I’d like to keep a lid on that for now. and not disclose anything I’ve been thinking about there.

Question: Have you done everything you can do with the Smash Bros. franchise now? In other words, can Wii owners look forward to a Super Smash Bros. Brawl sequel in the future?
Masahiro Sakurai answers: Well, the series has already had three iterations so I cannot say with one-hundred percent confidence that there won’t be any additional Smash Bros. games ever. But, at the same time I’d really like to note that I feel like with Brawl there are already so many modes and so much to do that it’s really hard to exhaust what you can do with this game. I’m really against the idea of merely creating a sequel that would add modes or increase the number of characters in the roster — all the sort of things that just simply fatten up the game. I’d like to avoid just doing that if a sequel ever came out.

i want to have patsy smiles from camp lazlo to appear of super smash bros brawl 2, along with amber the rabbit. that would have been great if we put 3 camp lazlo characters on the brawl sequel, patsy, amber, and jane doe. panini from chowder would’ve been nice if she were on the brawl sequel. make pasy, amber and jane doe a newcomer starter character, yo, i would be amazing. on the story mode, they should put ms. endive as a cool boss battle to have, i can put only a few cartoon characters from the brawl sequel. for the cartoon network fans, i only can add a few cartoon fighters from brawl. i am keeping this a secret between me, the smash bros., and the great series creator: Masahiro Sakurai. i can only do this cartoon idea on the next brawl game only this time, so this is going to be a biggest draft for the characters that are starters, unlockables, and newcomers. GO smash brothers, for the world, you rock! yeeeeeeeeah!

I really want raichu as a pokemon character because they have pikachu and they had pichu in melee so why not have raichu

I want every nintendo character ever made put into the next one such as a goomba add third party characters like jin kazama from tekken or go all out and add every game character ever made and put it in there as DLC so you don’t have to fit all that into one I know i’d wanna play as a tyrannatar or aggron but that’s just me.

I would love to see a larger story mode with it starting out with like 3 stories and they combine later on. You can choose what one to start with like Mario/Luigi story a Pokemon-Trainer/Pikachu story and a Link/Zelda story.Then they continue on like the subspace emmisary.

okay to me with the newest super smash bros you could have done a little bit more dont get me wrong the game was amazing better than the last two but to me you could have added a lot more characters like the whole star fox crew maybe the super smash bros characters like baby mario, baby luigi, baby peach, baby daisy, daisy, baby bowser, waluigi, skull kid and use the characters you had from super smash bros, bros melee and brawl to make a sequel. Use all the stages you have from bros, melee and brawl if your going to make a sequel. You could also make the story longer and you could add more costumes to all the characters like the raccoon suit from mario bros 3. You can leave the items the same and the super smash special the same i dont use those i just go hand to hand combat. okay now getting back to the characters you could add DK JR., dixie mumbo jumbo, cranky, krool, banjo,bomberman, tooty, krystal, peppy, slippy, tails knuckels, shadow, dark link, zora, duku, goron, and use more pokemon so i hope you look in to this if your doing a sequel.
