Super Smash Bros. Brawl 2 sequel in the head of series creator Masahiro Sakurai

Super Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai talked about a Super Smash Bros. Brawl 2 sequel at the Game Developers Conference 2008. It’s interesting to hear him say certain features like voice chat were left out because of Wii limitations, but that there were more not included features he thought about added, which he’d like to put in a sequel. What follows are the relevant interview quotes:

Question: What would be that one specific feature you wish you could have added?
Masahiro Sakurai answers: I feel like anything I’ve considered I’m probably going to think about when — I mean if — another game was to come out in the series and so I’d like to keep a lid on that for now. and not disclose anything I’ve been thinking about there.

Question: Have you done everything you can do with the Smash Bros. franchise now? In other words, can Wii owners look forward to a Super Smash Bros. Brawl sequel in the future?
Masahiro Sakurai answers: Well, the series has already had three iterations so I cannot say with one-hundred percent confidence that there won’t be any additional Smash Bros. games ever. But, at the same time I’d really like to note that I feel like with Brawl there are already so many modes and so much to do that it’s really hard to exhaust what you can do with this game. I’m really against the idea of merely creating a sequel that would add modes or increase the number of characters in the roster — all the sort of things that just simply fatten up the game. I’d like to avoid just doing that if a sequel ever came out.

There needs to be a sequel. my friends an I got bored of brawl and there needs to be a new one with more characters,stages,modes,challenges and other things to.

look brawl was awesum i still think its awesum. but it could have sum updates to have in a sequal. like new characters like u said but maybe advance into the stage builder a bit more? or better wi fi stuff, new maps perhaps? w/e im jus sayin if theres a sequal everyone will buy it includin me

I know a cool idea,if it is possible.There could be money that you can use to buy more characters and stages,like you could use the wi-fi to buy them and there can be updates so you can buy more.This way if they want to add more after the game comes out.Another idea,you know the item switch,well what if they had something like that for pokemon and assisstant tropies.So you can turn off the annoying ones or only have the cool ones.For example no munchlax or only nintendo dog.

Keep Olimar. He is my best character. And Add Vespiquen, She’d work like olimar with her combees. Also, there needs to be Nastaisia or dimentio from super paper mario.
Don’t add any gay Naruto, bleach or inuyasha characters. They are NOT nintendo characters just cause they’re japanise.
Oh I forgot. Add daisy.
B=toad sheild
B+down=Picks a fire flower
B+side= Kicks a soccer ball (Super mariop strikers)
And B+up= Uses a daisy instead of an umbrella

And her FS makes a bunch of flowers to start growing i.e Daisy grab hold of characters, Pirahna plants bite them, fire flowers burn them, or she just gets a cannon that shoots out bob-ombs?

Anyone who seriously thinks there’s gonna be another Smash Bros for Wii is kinda stupid… no offence. They’ve already put heaps in to Brawl and there’s just no point in making a sequel with a few extra characters, stages etc. What I think would be cool is Smash Bros for DS! (probably not gonna happen though) Seriously, there’s not going to be another Smash Bros until the 8th generation of video games.

But you have to remeber that Masahiro Sakurai said he’s not for sure if there will be a Smash Bro. 2. If there IS a another one coming out I think they should put Mewtwo back in it.

i say your right about new characters imean they didnt put tails in or shadow or knuckles or even krystal from star fox oh add more backgrounds to stage builder. oh they should put back the characters they took out in meile and dont take out any characters in brawl either! please make another brawl
