Super Smash Bros. Brawl 2 sequel in the head of series creator Masahiro Sakurai

Super Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai talked about a Super Smash Bros. Brawl 2 sequel at the Game Developers Conference 2008. It’s interesting to hear him say certain features like voice chat were left out because of Wii limitations, but that there were more not included features he thought about added, which he’d like to put in a sequel. What follows are the relevant interview quotes:

Question: What would be that one specific feature you wish you could have added?
Masahiro Sakurai answers: I feel like anything I’ve considered I’m probably going to think about when — I mean if — another game was to come out in the series and so I’d like to keep a lid on that for now. and not disclose anything I’ve been thinking about there.

Question: Have you done everything you can do with the Smash Bros. franchise now? In other words, can Wii owners look forward to a Super Smash Bros. Brawl sequel in the future?
Masahiro Sakurai answers: Well, the series has already had three iterations so I cannot say with one-hundred percent confidence that there won’t be any additional Smash Bros. games ever. But, at the same time I’d really like to note that I feel like with Brawl there are already so many modes and so much to do that it’s really hard to exhaust what you can do with this game. I’m really against the idea of merely creating a sequel that would add modes or increase the number of characters in the roster — all the sort of things that just simply fatten up the game. I’d like to avoid just doing that if a sequel ever came out.

Why wouldn’t you want to fatten it up with more characters? I’d love to see multiple pages of characters to chose from. I’d love to see some more characters Smashin it up. Yoda? Neo? thatd be badass.

here’s something 2 think about, Lucario is a little bit like mewto right? They should bring back melee characters and put in more sonic charcters like:(keep sonic),Knuckles,Shadow, and Silver. (Not Tails because he isnt much of a fighter). Maybe Amy and Rouge.

I think they should’ve added a certain amount of characters from each games series for example mario,luigi,peach,bowser. Well why couldn’t they have done that withh sonic like have sonic,shadow,silver & knuckles..& i would’ve enjoyed seeing roy instead of marth cause marth sucks but ike takes roy’s spot in a way. Same withh mewtwo & lucario most of the characters have similiar moves as well i didn’t like that. i’d love to see a bigger roster tho they should’ve put shadow AT LEAST & not as an assist trophy like come on we all love sonic but shadow & silver are the sh**t.. & if they did have shadow they could’ve gave him the same moves as sonic but different & stronger almost like ganondorf & captain falcon .. They have basically the same move set except ganondorfs stronger.

i think they should hav a 4th smash to end it all with every 1 has there own like 4 example theres Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, and derez a gud example ok ok umm itz like this The Main charater the Rival the gurl and the bad guy so there should hav been Fox, Falco, Wolf, Krystal,
Sonic, and Shadow @ least and Tailz iz a assit trophy Solid Snake, Grey Fox, and Dk, Diddy Kong Dixe Kong and K-Rool
and Kirby, MK, DEDEDE, Tiff, Samus, Zero suit, Dark Samus, Pikachu, Richu, Pkm Trainer, Lucario Mewtwo JigglypuFF, and OH yes MORE FE charaters Marth, Roy (new moves) and Ike and the Dark Knight and thatz a gud example dun cha think??

I think if they had a 4th smash bros. game, they should have the ability to create a charactor.But,to make it fair,the faster you make your character, the weaker they are. They should have more sega characters like Shadow,Knuckles,Silver,Tails,& for the girls, Rouge&Amy.Also, there should be a few more characters from snake’s series,& Waluigi would be a sort of a good character(so would Daisy)
