Twisted Metal Head On: Extra Twisted Edition video review

Twisted Metal: Head On: Extra Twisted Edition for PS2Twisted Metal: Head-On: Extra Twisted Edition provides all the fast-paced vehicular combat and destruction that fans of the franchise have come to know and love. The latest installment in the multi-million selling franchise provides a variety of gameplay options, as gamers can go head-to-head or compete against the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and deliver the devastation as they strap themselves into one of 14 lethal machines on wheels equipped with machine guns, turbo boosts and special attacks unique to each vehicle.

Additionally, for the first time ever, fans will be able to take “Sweet Tooth” out of his ice cream truck and explore, on foot, an all new level filled with factoids about the Twisted Metal universe straight from the developers. Also, included with the game is an art booklet featuring never released concept art from the franchise.

Nut jobs, burnouts, and crazed cops compete with one another for a chance to have a wish fulfilled, but will players have their hopes answered with this $20 PS2 game? Find out in this Twisted Metal Head On: Extra Twisted video review.

To quote the video review: “Head-On faithfully returns to the prestigious roots that were cultivated by the first two installments of the franchise. Luckily, any and all influence from parts three and four has been abandoned. Fans of the series will immediately find comfort in the games’ linear structure. You select one of the many decked-out vehicles, each with a driver that looks to be on the verge of a mental breakdown, and get ready to tear through the competition in arena-based stages.

While we’re still patiently waiting for a PlayStation 3 version of Twisted Metal, it’s nice to be able to dust off our PS2 and rekindle the relationship. The added content and blatant fan service alone make this a worthwhile budget title, and with so little software being released for Sony’s old machine these days it’s worth a purchase for those who have yet to move on.”
