Fable 2 has co-op, downloadable arcade mini-games, and playable female shown

Pre-order Fable 2 for Xbox 360At the Game Developers Conference 2008 it was announced by developer Lionhead Studios that their upcoming Xbox 360-exclusive action-RPG Fable 2 will feature a new dynamic co-op mode, meaning players will be able to drop in and out of other player’s games at will. The host player can set certain rules, for example how loot gained is split between the players and if friendly fire is active or not. This marks the first time the series will have a multiplayer function. It’s most notable because the actions (like deaths) in online co-op will be permanent in the host player’s offline game.

Also new are the downloadable Xbox Live Arcade mini-games that earn major cash. Carbonated Games has partnered with Lionhead Studios, so gamers can start earning in-game currency for the Fable 2 world later this year, before the game’s release (expected late in 2008). By downloading and completing exclusive mini-games, they allow gamers to purchase weapons, armor and more for their hero. Talking about the playable hero, this time around the hero can also be a female.

In this video Peter Molyneux shows how you go through the game’s adventures with the new female character.
