PixelJunk Eden video for PS3. PixelJunk Dungeons announced as 4th game in series

PixelJunk logoPixelJunk Eden has been announced for PS3 via the Playstation Network as the next title in the developer’s line of downloadable 2D games, as revealed by Q-Games president Dylan Cuthbert (fun tidbit: He was a developer on the original Star Fox for SNES) during his GDC session on their PixelJunk titles, showing off a short video of the game that you can take a look at below.

PixelJunk Eden comes across as being far more experimental than the independent developer’s previous titles, boasting psychedelic visuals, an electronic soundtrack and swinging, ball-based platforming.

Eden started development in June 2007, and Cuthbert has said that he expects it to arrive for download via the PlayStation Network/Store sometime “before Summer.”

Also mentioned but never elaborated on was PixelJunk Dungeons, the fourth title in the series which Cuthbert assured would, in fact, feature dungeons of some kind.

Finally, the presentation revealed that Q-Games would eventually focus its efforts on 3D gaming in a second series of PixelJunk.

Previous games in the PixelJunk series include PixelJunk Racers, the first title in the series, and PixelJunk Monsters, which was released on January 24th.
