Vigilante 8: Arcade announced for Xbox 360 Live Arcade
Activision has announced Vigilante 8: Arcade for Xbox 360 Live Arcade. No release date is set yet.
The game is a remake of the original car-combat Vigilante 8 game that was released on the PS1 back in 1998. This comes as a surprise because the franchise hasn’t been heard from since the release of it’s sequel for the Nintendo 64 and PS1 called Vigilante 8: Second Offense, way back in 2000. Maybe this means we’ll see a revival of the franchise?

*Five newly designed, highly interactive arenas, using Bezier patch technology for maximum surface smoothness!

Vigilante 8: Arcade is being developed by Isopod Labs, which was formed in early 2007 by Adrian Stephens and Peter Morawiec, cofounders of original Vigilante 8 developer Luxoflux. Here are some screenshots from the game:
