Dragon Ball Online videos show intro and first gameplay of the PC and Xbox 360 MMORPG

The Dragon Ball Online MMO is coming to PC in Korea and Japan. The service plan is said to start sometime in 2008. No word yet if it’ll be released elsewhere in the world, but let’s hope this gets an English release. Maybe the Dragon Ball Online Xbox 360 version could make that happen?

For now, let’s take a look at the first Dragon Ball Online videos that show off the RPG’s intro and some gameplay footage. They seem to be doing the manga and anime series justice through time travel, collecting dragonballs and having martial arts tournaments, while taking place far in the future. Perhaps series creator and game supervisor Akira Toriyama is using Time Patrol Trunks to create split timelines in which the game takes place, this way the original universe stays intact and he can let his imagination run wild.

The game looks great so far!

the beta is coming out end of 2008 or early 2009, they confirmed a english release but they havent told us the exact date…

so keep ur hopes up

I heard that there’ll be half saiyans but not the real thing, and thats good cause full saiyans would be way too powerfull, or maybe if they were limited to oozaru transformation since the ss is supposed to be really rare and one would appear only every millenium or whatever the legend was.
There is one thing I’m worried about and that’s that you have to pay for playing it, like wow… I think it’s really stupid that you have to pay for playing something you already bought….. it really sucks for poorer people like me :/

Uhh…for a game that hosts servers you need to have a monthly bill…how else do they keep the servers up and running….and how do they keep paying their employees? How do they get money for huge patches? Money for expansions? Most of that money comes from people who pay online to play.

JSG, Rossco is right, the game experience wouldn’t be as great without paying for it, but WoW isn’t worth paying for, this will be though, it isn’t like halo or GTA where once you buy it the game is all that matters, WoW and this game require constant maintenence and supervision, patches for more fun and different gameplay, events, and all that great stuff. If you dont want to pay monthly or you don’t have enough money than play mabinogi, or buy a regular DBZ game

aww its so awesume and u need to pay monthly for it? about the Full saiyan thing it sould be like this every year there will be every hour for the ones that pays will get saiyans (full) with ssj so it will begin right after it becomes a new years so like 2 january (1 january will be suckish cuz it would ruin the fun of fireworks)it will be a limited eddition item every 1 our there will come a Saiyan (24) and about paying monthly. it realy sucks but what if we do like donate till they think its enuf? or force it now till they enuf and later it will be free! how does that sound?
