Professor Layton 2 coming to US?

There may be plans to release Professor Layton 2 in the U.S. . The game is already out in Japan and is called Professor Layton And The Devil’s Box.

According to the last page of the instruction manual for Professor Layton and the Curious Village on DS (just released yesterday), there is a password feature tucked away in the game that can be unlocked . . . but only by using a passcode from the second game. The instruction manual confirms it by saying that the password “will be revealed in the sequel”.

Hopefully the first game sells enough copies to warrant the release of Professor Layton 2. Come on people, we need more games like this!

The main story in Pandora’s Box revolves around Professor Layton and his young apprentice Luke traveling to meet Layton’s mentor, who has sent them a letter about a mysterious box. Layton’s mentor writes that he wishes to have Layton take care of his information if anything were to happen to him. Professor Layton and Luke rush to the mentor’s home, only to find him killed under mysterious circumstances. From there the pair travel to discover the secrets of the “pandora’s box”.

By the way, check out this very funny error on Circuit City.com where they accidentally typed “Professor Lipton” (as in Lipton Tea) instead of “Professor Layton”.
