FaceBreaker for Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3 is an all-new cartoony boxing game announced by EA, being developed by EA Canada.
The game seeks to fill a void that has been missing ever since the popularity of Midways “Ready 2 Rumble” series waned. Since Fight Night is a popular, but serious, boxing franchise, FaceBreaker goes in the opposite direction with cartoony visuals and a comedic bent.
Looking like a cross between Team Fortress 2 and the aforementioned Ready 2 Rumble Boxing, the game literally lets players bust in each other’s faces; what EA is calling “real-time facial deformation” technology.
And instead of using real boxers, the game uses an entirely new cast of fictional characters such as Romeo, “a Latin lover known for his pelvic thrusts,” and Molotov, “an oversized Russian demolitions expert with a penchant for fighting dirty.” Players will also be able to use “Game Face” mode to map a picture of their face onto their characters, just like in the Tiger Woods games.
The March 2008 issue of EGM will have the exclusive preview of the game for more details.
THIS SUCKS
[Moderator edit: Do you have a good reason for saying that about an unreleased game or are you putting out flamebait?]
