Rock Band microphone NOT compatible with Wii

You may remember the other day when images of an official Rock Band microphone hit stores, subsequently confirming the existence of a Wii version due to the name of the Wii being printed on the packaging. EA then actually confirmed Rock Band Wii in a conference call. Which made it really, really official.

But now EA has stated that the word Wii printed on the packaging of the official Rock Band microphones was a misprint. “Our packaging mistakenly states that the microphone is compatible with the Wii. Unfortunately, this is not the case and will be corrected in future versions of the packaging. We apologize for the confusion.” There also seem to be errors with this specific mic, so the microphone will not work with the Wii’s Boogie or High School Musical either (both of which use microphones plugged into the Wii’s USB ports). — Via Joystiq
