On Thursday, January 31st, in Japan the Wii fighting game Super Smash Bros. Brawl will be released. There will be millions of fans trying to get their hands on the game early, so it’s no surprise now that Japanese stores are receiving their orders for the game from Nintendo, that the game’s street date is broken.

As a result we can now confirm 1 newcomer and 7 veteran Super Smash Bros. characters for Brawl to you! Here are the new characters:

Luigi (from the Mario series)

Ganondorf (from The Legend of Zelda series)

Captain Falcon (from the F-Zero series)

Marth (from the Fire Emblem series)

Falco Lombardi (from the Star Fox series)

Mr. Game & Watch (from the classic Game & Watch series)

R.O.B. (Robotic Operating Buddy, known as Robot in Japan — from the NES games Gyromite & Stack-Up)

Young Link (known as Toon Link in Japan — from The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker)

The following character roster from the Japanese version of the game shows all the so-far unveiled Brawl characters, except for the already confirmed Jigglypuff and possible others we don’t know about yet.

Here’s a new gameplay video showing the character and stage select and a battle.

In the Subspace Emissary Marth and Metaknight confront each other and then… team up!?

I also think that it’s not fair that japan gets Brawl and we still need a whole month to go while they are having all the fun, that’s bullshit
I think nintendo and japan are making fun of us because why would they delay us a whole month while they’re delayed just a week and now that it’s out on japan they are probably bragging and showing off the game while we still have to wait a whole month for the game???!!!!!
On the official website of SSBB on todays notice the director or whoever made the website was all,”ooo SSBB is on sale is EVERYBODY having fun with it” THEY THINK WE ARE ACTUALLY HAVING FUN WHEN WE DON’T EVEN HAVE THE DAMM GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS TWICE BULLSHIT THAN EARLIER!!!!!!!!!!!

Here’s a hint, turn on your gamecube/wii, insert super smash bros. melee, go to language, select japanese, go to mulitplayer, AND LOOK AT WHAT IT SAYS BENEATH BOWSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! koopa, right? exactly

Ok, now I’m pissed off, who the f**k is ROB?!?!?!?!?! And they put in Ness and Jigglypuff?!?!?! Ness and Jiggoypuff are stupid lame fighters and plus we have Lucas now anyways. WTF do they think they’re doing? And why isn’t Ridley playable character? Why is Wolf the last to unlock?

They’ve basically gone and said, hey, instead of characters from popular series that lots of people like, let’s put in ones from series that just about no one has heard of……

Mario (star of Nintendo, so obviously a lot) is: 6 (counting Yoshi) How Many were in Melee: lets see here, 6!!!!!!!!!!

Legend Of Zelda is: 4. How Many were in Melee: 4!!!!!!!!!!

Kirby Is: 3, in melee 1, this is the biggest one (but personally I think Kirby is wierd and King Dedede is retarted)

Pokemon (not counting individual for pokemon trainer) is: 3, how many were in melee? 4!!!!!!!

Metroid: How many were In Melee? 1, now of course, how many are in Brawl? 1!

Star Fox: How Many In Brawl 3! How Many In Melee: 2, now this I’m proud of, lol!

Donkey Kong, Brawl 2, Melee, 1, now this is better but Diddy Kong has wierd peanut attacks, but whatever.

Fire Emblem, Brawl: 2, Melee: 2, wtf is the point of that?

Sonic is new to brawl so A+ job Nintendo even though we all knew it was gonna happen.

So Let’s Count Up How many in melee and how many in Brawk shall we?

Melee: 21
Brawl: 24

So That’s Good, now lets see how many characters that aren’t as well known

Melee: 4
Brawl: 11

Hey Darth Trevader,

If you have no idea who R.O.B is then look up the NES on wikipedia instead or ranting about nothing.

For those who do not know, R.O.B. was a peripheral that came packaged with NES back when it was first released. R.O.B is as much part of Nintendo’s history as Game and Watch and Mario.

Wolf and Falco and Ness are not clones, just watch gameplay videos, they only fight similar to Fox. Ganon is the only clone left in the game.

Jigglypuff is a fantastic character, my second best behind Samus. I use Jigglypuff whenever my friends are tired of being killed by Samus all the time. Her down b attack rocks.

Smash Bros celebrates the HISTORY of NINTENDO!

It is not a celebration of popular characters, otherwise we would have had a Goomba, Megaman, Cloud and Barbie in the game as well.

I know no one will believe me, but I have played brawl. I live in New Braunfels Texas and there is a place called the D-Pad, and they imported a copy from Japan. You can visit there website(thedpadonline.com). But, this roster is real. The only characters they don’t have unlocked at the D-Pad are Wolf and Jigglypuff. but all-in-all, that game is amazing. My favourite characters would have to be Pitt, Pokemon trainer, Metaknight and Ike. Snake is cool, but his moves feel awkward. The only problem is that the game is in japanese so we can’t figure out how to unlock wolf. If you don’t belive me, go on the website.

I have to agree with Sharpedo43, it isn’t fair that we have to wait another month for Brawl, and I wish that there were more characters in the game, but overall I’m pretty happy with it and I think the adventure mode is going to be really cool!
