Star Wars: Rogue Squadron creator Factor 5 returns to Wii development

Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II for GameCube (playable on Wii)Factor 5, the creators of the Rogue Squadron series on the Nintendo GameCube, have returned to Wii development. The company’s president Julian Eggebrecht confirmed to IGN that the studio is underway with at least one all-new Wii project, which isn’t a Virtual Console game.

Outside of confirming a Wii title is in development, not much else was said. But he did note that: “the new title would not simply re-use old Rogue Squadron technology, instead it’ll be significantly updated or even completely new tech has been developed to help accommodate it.” This is exciting news because the GameCube launch game “Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II” didn’t merely play amazing, graphically it was one of the console’s best-looking games for years. So fingers crossed they’ll end up making something like a Rogue Leader or Pilot Wings flight-action game.
