GameSpot before Kane & Lynch ads were removed after Jeff's bad review
Alex Navarro who’s been working at GameSpot for years, as a reviewer in both writing and as a video review narrator and podcast contributor, will be leaving the website according to GameSpot Editorial Director Ricardo Torres. Kotaku called Torres on Friday, who said that Navarro had given his notice the day before, so the rest of the staff were told his last day of GameSpot editorial duties would be on January 24th. He continued: “We still love the site and won’t give up on it. We owe it to the site and our readers who support it.”

No doubt Alex leaving is directly related to his friend Jeff being fired last year, since Alex showed up in the Points videos on the blog of Jeff Gerstmann is Still Alive. Hopefully the two along with another former-GameSpot reviewer Frank Provo or something will start their own gaming website without the journalistic integrity debacle.

Wow, this is sad news to hear. Fortuneatly, I wasn’t too big a fan of Alex, I thought he was one of the shallowest of the bunch and he never seemed to be too excited about what he was doing IMO.

I don’t know, I just never cared much for the guy. So it won’t be a huge loss for me.

I do wonder if this is the beginning of the end of the personalities at GS though. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
