BioShock 2 is a prequel?

BioShock on Xbox 360BioShock publisher 2K Games wasn’t shy about confirming BioShock 2 and more sequels were being planned for the new franchise every two years, especially after the huge critical and financial success BioShock turned out to be (it shipped 1.5 million copies worldwide at launch).

Murmurs from CVG sources close to the developer now claim the FPS PC & Xbox 360 game sequel is currently in pre-production and that BioShock 2 will take place before the events of BioShock. If it’s indeed a prequel, then expect the next game to take place during the events surrounding the fall of Rapture, the underwater “utopia” city that acted as background to the first game.

a prequel would be cool. but i would like to see that andrew ryan did in fact survive the first bioshock via the vita-chamber. i heard rumors he turned off the vita chambers before making you kill him but thats not how i remember it.

i think it would be really cool if they made the prequel before the fall of rapture.
to show what this utopia was like before it went to hell :P
