Zero Punctuation’s take on Super Mario Galaxy

Super Mario Galaxy for WiiSuper Mario Galaxy for the Nintendo Wii took a whole lot of Game Of The Year awards in 2007. So what happens when a coarse, sarcastic, bad tempered person gives his take on the platformer with everyone’s favorite Italian plumber? A joyful game suddenly becomes something entirely twisted thanks to Yahtzee, who’s “a British-born, currently Australian-based writer and gamer, with a sweet hat and a chip on his shoulder.”

I’ll leave it up to you whether you agree or not.

I enjoy Yahtzee’s review but I don’t think that he had enough material here. Paying out the camera system or the game’s paper thin storyline isn’t really much of a cop out. As the camera is great and the story has always been terrible.

He could have been a little more creative I guess. I much prefered the Assassians Creed review. ^_^

Lol, I agree with him…although as Astro could testify, I’m terribly pessimistic :P I’ve had that opinion ever since I started playing it back at launch. SMG is lots of fun and creative, but the reason it’s great is because it’s not SMS. They gave us SM64 in space and lots of nostalgic references and they made everyone happy because it’s the anti-Sunshine. He’s completely right, it’s the same formula. But still fun! :P I think the only way I disagree with him is he wants them to change it up, but I think it’s unnecessary, since everyone is obviously happy with the same old game.

And the camera angles do make me angry on occasion, it allows you to change them when they feel like allowing you the option, grr. And they dropped the ball on the power ups.
