EA won’t confirm Rock Band for Wii
Publisher Electronic Arts refuses to confirm if the Xbox 360, PS3 and PS2 music simulator game Rock Band will also be ported to the Wii. To quote an official statement: “We have not announced any plans for a Wii version at this time.”
This contradicts a previous statement from developer Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos, who said back in April 2007: “absolutely” when asked if there was a possibility of seeing the game on Wii. “We will, at some time, bring Rock Band to every [important] platform,” he said in the conference call. “I think the Wiimote is something that holds enormous promise,” quotes Gamepro.
I guess it makes perfect financial sense to not release this game on the best-selling system of last Christmas. Oh no, wait, it does sound stupid. If there’s no announcement coming soon, Wii fans owning multiple systems should probably consider picking this up for another console. Or if you don’t have Guitar Hero 3 yet, try that out.
