Red Steel 2 sequel confirmed for Wii in late 2008

Red Steel for WiiWii launch game Red Steel was seemingly universally hated for it’s bad controls, but still must’ve had a lot of fans as it sold nearly a million copies. After planning Red Steel 2 last year, as a result of these sales Ubisoft is now developing Red Steel 2 for the Nintendo Wii. Going by last year’s Ubisoft job posting the sequel to the FPS game will feature RPG influences.

The latest issue of the UK’s Official Nintendo Magazine is reporting that the sequel to Red Steel will be out sometime in late 2008. It’s quoted to contain: “better controls, better AI, better multiplayer and online play”. Kotaku jokes they should call it Blue Steel, as a Zoolander fan I approve of this, but trademarks suggest it’ll be named Fighting Steel.

I have high hopes for this game as I did enjoy is much more than a lot of other people. I think that it was just understood by a lot of people (but it still had plenty of flaws).

Yah one of the flaws was the useless multiplayer! I’ve never been that bored playing against my friend. Let us hope they test the sequel on actual human beings who can experience fun this time around so they find out if joy can be experienced while playing and change what sucks.

    WTF?!

NO! NO! NO! NO! It what planet are they releasing this game thinking “well since the first game was so good…”? Cause on earth it SUCKED!

I bet they´re making up like a huge title or change the name (like Project Origin) and through press releases slip in very small font the phrase: “… sequel to the smash hit Red Steel, for the Wii”. That would just be ghetto low.
