Is MegaMan in Super Smash Bros Brawl’s starter roster?
CoroCoro Comics has long featured MegaMan’s own manga, now the Super Smash Bros Brawl starter roster will appear in the Japanese magazine on December 15th! The magazine has announced that all characters will be revealed, in a separate booklet, this Saturday. The magazine is known for its Pokemon manga and revealing the 3 starter Pokemon from Pokemon Diamond and Pearl.
A translation from Japanese doesn’t clarify if CoroCoro is showing just the starting characters or all of the secret characters, which would include some surprises including a possible MegaMan reveal. This means that this week, we’ll either get the full roster from CoroCoro comics, or they’ll just give the starting roster, which will probably be on the on the official SmashBros Dojo website prior to the magazine’s announcement.
Having just the starting roster is by far more likely given what CoroCoro has pulled in the past in regards to Smash, and it would make sense that we’ll have the full starting lineup of characters soon since we’re already at 22 official Brawl characters, 23 if you count Zero Suit Samus. — Translation by Smashboards & Neogaf
What do you think? After Konami’s Snake and Sega’s Sonic, could Capcom’s MegaMan be next?
Update November 15: Bad news, Brawlcentral confirms this month’s CoroCoro issue only contains previously known characters that have been announced on the Dojo already.
Update December 22: Even more bad news, there’s now confirmation directly from Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune that Capcom’s Blue Bomber isn’t in Brawl. He said: “I really do love Super Smash Bros. It’s a great series… but, Nintendo hasn’t asked me yet if they can use Mega Man in their game,” he said in a podcast.
