The Making of Donkey Kong Country

Back in 1994 a promotional video for the Super NES game Donkey Kong Country was put out by Nintendo Power magazine. Before the game was released on November 25th 1994, they visited the Nintendo of America headquarters to find out all about Rare’s platformer with rendered graphics. At the time this was a big deal and makes the following video both interesting and hilarious to watch. Waaaay too many banana jokes, though.

For maximum excitement, try putting yourself in the place of your 13-years-younger self… “The 3D graphics look real! Wow!”

Here is part 1 of the Making of Donkey Kong Country 1 for SNES.

Here is part 2 of the Making of Donkey Kong Country 1 for Super Nintendo.

Keep watching until the end and you’ll see what was then an insanely exciting teaser for the Super NES Rare-developed fighter, Killer Instinct! Awesome Easter Egg.

Donkey Kong Country on SNESI dug this video up from our Donkey Kong Country review and figured someone would get a kick out of it. If you do, don’t forget you can download Donkey Kong Country on Wii Virtual Console for a measly $8 dollars! If you don’t have the game now, what are you waiting for! GO DOWNLOAD IT!

Here is the same Making of Donkey Kong Country all in one video via Google.
