Gears of War for PCGears of War is a third-person tactical shooter from Epic, running on the Unreal Engine 3. Gears of War was released on Xbox 360 a year ago and has now been released on PC. The game thrusts gamers into a deep and harrowing story of humankind’s epic battle for survival against the Locust Horde, a nightmarish race of creatures that surface from the bowels of the planet.

Unlike other shooters, Gears of War is all about teamwork in a big way. All (new) game modes, game editor, levels and scenarios are designed specifically to encourage co-operative play (local or online via Games for Windows LIVE support integrated into Unreal Engine 3) whether it be with A.I. partners or human players.

The PC version has a few extras that weren’t in the Xbox 360 version. There are three new multi-player maps, and five new single-player chapters which describe events of Delta Squad escaping a giant Brumak between acts four and five. So outside of the new game modes, the single player Brumak battle extras will give you one to two hours of extra playtime. See how the port did in this Gears of War PC video review.
