Gears of War PC video review
Gears of War is a third-person tactical shooter from Epic, running on the Unreal Engine 3. Gears of War was released on Xbox 360 a year ago and has now been released on PC. The game thrusts gamers into a deep and harrowing story of humankind’s epic battle for survival against the Locust Horde, a nightmarish race of creatures that surface from the bowels of the planet.
Unlike other shooters, Gears of War is all about teamwork in a big way. All (new) game modes, game editor, levels and scenarios are designed specifically to encourage co-operative play (local or online via Games for Windows LIVE support integrated into Unreal Engine 3) whether it be with A.I. partners or human players.
The PC version has a few extras that weren’t in the Xbox 360 version. There are three new multi-player maps, and five new single-player chapters which describe events of Delta Squad escaping a giant Brumak between acts four and five.
