The Darkness 2 sequel underway for Xbox 360 and PS3 in late 2008

The Darkness 2 is underway. A comic publisher Top Cow Comics employee Matt Hawkins, who produces The Darkness comic book series, let it slip that a sequel to The Darkness game is in the works. To quote: “There will be a sequel to The Darkness video game sooner [rather] than later.”

Developer Starbreeze Studios is currently hard at work on the second FPS-action horror quest, which is said to be for Xbox 360 and PS3, and is set for a late 2008 / early 2009 release. The sequel is said to follow on directly from events in the first bloodbath of a game, according to CVG.

Of course publisher 2K Games denies this as just a rumour, meaning we’ll have to wait for the official confirmation from them in 2008.

Update: A panel at Comic-Con 2009 for Top Cow Productions gave the first official confirmation that The Darkness 2 is indeed in development. Though no other details on the game were given.

I really hope 2k’s a bad fibber when they said that they’re not making it.
The sequel better have a awesome villain like the Angelus.

i have to say this was an amazing and brilliant game to play and complete,and i would have to say to anyone who hasent played it please give it a chance and play it,it may seem to start of slow but give yourself 20 mins into the game and i garentee you’ll be blown away with the cgi,guns,and once the darkness posseses you you’ll really see what you can do,starting off from one darklin and one darkness level working your way throught to being able to create black holes in mid air and crushing your enemy to just about anything sick you can think,this game is truely amazing and i really cant wait for them to make the darkness 2 i really hope its not a rumour,but saying this from the way the first one ended with rat face on jennys lap in a park dream..i have to say theres gotta be a number 2 please please please.roll on

i played the darkness.
and I loved it.
it is simply one of those games you get hooked on.
theres alot of thinking and strategy in this game.
i love the one man shooter game.
jakie really puts an attieon to you.
when his girl friend gets shot by his uncle.
thats when you really want to go mid-evil on the sun-of-a-b*tch!
and when the darkness holds you back from saving her.
and your thinking what the hell?
at first i though maybe she would be part of the darkness too.
so it wouldnt be all bad.
but i dont know i’m still in hell.
but im almost out.
the darkness is a really intense game.
i love it.

I have playd “the darkness” and loved i right off the bat. I hope that they come out with The Darkness 2 and hopfully it becomes a series.

I playd “the darkness” and hope they make “the darkness 2″ or better yet turn it into a game series(i.e. Prince of Persia video game)

omg i love the darkness the demons r so kewl but the way u move arouned the city makes it feel more like a mobster movie and jackie is a badass!!! the ending was not what i exspected but still good god i hope they make darkness 2

the 1st time i played that game it was crazy. The ending was pretty sad but it was awesome. Can’t wait for part 2. Awsome job guys!

the darkness is a f#cking sick game!! i loved it when i started playing it! when jenny was shot by jackies loving “uncle” paulie, i was like ……..WTF I AM GOING TO KILL U U FAT B@S$TARD!! of course that was after i paused for a few seconds with my mouth dropped and thinking and i even broke my remote cover that holds the batteries lol the game really pulls u in into thinking that u are jackie estacado. amazing game i hope they make a number two because i am going to be waiting in line to buy it. keep on keepin on Starbreeze Studios and Top Cow Comics u rock! and long live jackie estacado!
