The Darkness 2 sequel underway for Xbox 360 and PS3 in late 2008

The Darkness 2 is underway. A comic publisher Top Cow Comics employee Matt Hawkins, who produces The Darkness comic book series, let it slip that a sequel to The Darkness game is in the works. To quote: “There will be a sequel to The Darkness video game sooner [rather] than later.”

Developer Starbreeze Studios is currently hard at work on the second FPS-action horror quest, which is said to be for Xbox 360 and PS3, and is set for a late 2008 / early 2009 release. The sequel is said to follow on directly from events in the first bloodbath of a game, according to CVG.

Of course publisher 2K Games denies this as just a rumour, meaning we’ll have to wait for the official confirmation from them in 2008.

Update: A panel at Comic-Con 2009 for Top Cow Productions gave the first official confirmation that The Darkness 2 is indeed in development. Though no other details on the game were given.
