Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 might feature a character creator

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is already talked about by the game’s creators. They mention always listening to fan comments and admit that was the reason why they added online multiplayer on Wii and many more characters in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 after Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 on PS2 and Wii. One of the features still missing is a character creator, but that might change in 2008.

To quote Atari producer Donny Clay: “Unfortunately there are some things that are requested by several different fans that we aren’t able to do just yet. For example, one of things we get asked for quite a bit is a completely custom character system from the ground up. Meaning players want to be able to build their own character with their own moves and their own look. This is definitely something I would love to do as well, we just haven’t had the chance to get this into a game yet. Don’t worry though I won’t forget.”

That should come as no surprise since the upcoming Dragon Ball Online MMO game also features a character creator tool that allows you to make your own Saiyan, Human or Namek.

In recent interviews the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 team mentions working on a next-gen game and being a fan of the Xbox 360, so my guess would be that the next DBZ game is coming to not just Wii and PS2, but also Xbox 360 and PS3. Makes sense for them to want to make the graphics look even better and have more online features. Throw in the character creator on top of even more than the 161 characters in the last game and you’ve got yourself Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4.

As the official DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi blog says: “When we’re coming up with a new DBZ game, we first think about what the fans on the forums and message boards have been asking about.” So what do you want in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4?

PS: There’s also a Dragon Ball Z: Budokai “Burst Limit” game in development for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Update May 19th, 2009: After 1.5 years of waiting, the first magazine announcement of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 has been revealed in Japan, where the next Tenkaichi game for Xbox 360 and PS3 is titled Dragon Ball Z: Raging Blast!

haaaaaaaa r u serious cmon af, every1 nos theres no af i mean ssj 5 goku or vegeta its like what isnt ssj 4 gogeta good enuf 4 yas and ss3 vegeta how can they add sumthing that neva happened u do realise that the net isnt always rite i do feel there shud be all the shadow dragons and 4 christ sakes 2 on 2 that wud be gr8 but u cnt expect them 2 do that its like all the buttons are taken anyway oh and 4 every1 hu was wandering about akkuman HE AINT IN IT oh and just before i finish they rlly shud put dbz bt 4 on ps2 leave the xbox out of it wats the point of puttin numba 4 on xbox funny ppl go bak 2 ur halo.

OH AND I 4GOT 4 every1 hu wants all the dbz af characters ur all LOST the net isnt good 4 u all the time anyways if they put net on the ps2 version of dbz bt 4 im lookin 4ward 2 beating u all considering i can beat ssj 4 gogeta in ulimate battle the last mission PERFECT so GOOD LUCK go home and train u will need sorry (sorry xbox 360 fans we didnt get halo so u cnt get dbz bt 4 HAAA)

some things i would like
-create ur own character thing where u choose what they look like, what species they are and choose from moves. U could have to play a gigantic tournament with them to win the right to give them better moves and make them better fighters AND THEN THEY HAVE TO FIGHT GOKU OR SOMETHING!
-full size oozarus!
-bigger environments
-deflect back attacks and hold their energy balls and stuff like in the show.
-free roam on there somewhere where u can go around destroying stuff.
-MORE MOVES PER CHARACTER!
-ultimate attacks can be charged to DESTROY EVERTHING
-transformations make stuff blow up and the environment shakes

oh yeah one last thing
species you can choose from for custom characters-
Saiyan, evil type saiyan with scouter and oozaru ability etc, saiyan/human hybrid, alien (freiza type), other aliens, namek, human, dragon, fusion, android, cell type anroid, majin, demon, tuffle, bio thingy, custom or a combination!!!! (like a super fusion of everyone..somehow) and you should also be able to choose their age, looks, moves, evil or good, personality, loads of hair colours (blue please), back story, costumes and when u train them they get better and can have more moves untill they are like the ultimate (better than gogeta) warrior with like big bang kamehameha (x100), spirit bomb, super kamehameha, super saiyan 1-4, final flash and all other good moves. (They should also be playable on the online multiplayer thing to see who has created THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!) i know it’s alot to ask…but PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE!!!!!!!

in dbz 4 i would like a create character mode and you can make him/her a legendry ss like broly. I’d also like more words for battle mode like “youre going down”+ cool music.

for a extended scene once completed the game. goku as an old man, kid buu comes back by threatning to tourture people if he can not go earth to take revenge on goku.
goku + vegeta go into their ape form and fuse to make gogeta ape ss3 and kill buu with a dominating spirt bomb blast X10000
but kills both of them in the process. In spirit world vegeta offers to give his spirit to goku and live for the rest of his days.
