Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 might feature a character creator

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is already talked about by the game’s creators. They mention always listening to fan comments and admit that was the reason why they added online multiplayer on Wii and many more characters in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 after Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 on PS2 and Wii. One of the features still missing is a character creator, but that might change in 2008.

To quote Atari producer Donny Clay: “Unfortunately there are some things that are requested by several different fans that we aren’t able to do just yet. For example, one of things we get asked for quite a bit is a completely custom character system from the ground up. Meaning players want to be able to build their own character with their own moves and their own look. This is definitely something I would love to do as well, we just haven’t had the chance to get this into a game yet. Don’t worry though I won’t forget.”

That should come as no surprise since the upcoming Dragon Ball Online MMO game also features a character creator tool that allows you to make your own Saiyan, Human or Namek.

In recent interviews the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 team mentions working on a next-gen game and being a fan of the Xbox 360, so my guess would be that the next DBZ game is coming to not just Wii and PS2, but also Xbox 360 and PS3. Makes sense for them to want to make the graphics look even better and have more online features. Throw in the character creator on top of even more than the 161 characters in the last game and you’ve got yourself Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4.

As the official DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi blog says: “When we’re coming up with a new DBZ game, we first think about what the fans on the forums and message boards have been asking about.” So what do you want in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4?

PS: There’s also a Dragon Ball Z: Budokai “Burst Limit” game in development for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Update May 19th, 2009: After 1.5 years of waiting, the first magazine announcement of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 has been revealed in Japan, where the next Tenkaichi game for Xbox 360 and PS3 is titled Dragon Ball Z: Raging Blast!

well i think this could be interesting it will be multi platform so all people could play the game i own the PS2, X-BOX 360 and possibly i might get a wii but if this does come out for the PS2 then i’ll buy it because i have the first 3 games for that system so that would make more sense to me but seeing this game on 360 and PS3 would be cool seeing the new graphics applied

Does anyone know who will be making dragonball z budokai tenkaichi 4?

Spike and Atari you have been doing really well with this series, and I like it. But for the Nintendo Wii the Online Functionality is slow when you start the fight I was hoping it would be just as fast as when you are in non-online gameplay. In Tenkaichi 4 I think you should fix this problem, and also add an online Tournament mode.Also from what I heard everyone is wondering about new characters. I think that all the saiyans in the anime should be playable in the game and also have their super saiyan form at least even if they never use it in the anime. I suggest that Pan can use Super Saiyan transformation and also Bra, Trunk’s sister. So Bra would be a new playable character. And also the Super Saiyan forms that are skipped such as Vegeta having Super Saiyan 4 but not Super Saiyan 3 need to be added. I think Goku (GT) would be strong in a super saiyan 2 form even though he has a SS3 form. I also think the Sagas should be longer, and that there should be more What If Stories too. I think it would be cool if you went in order and went through the Dragon Ball series in extreme depth, then the Dragon Ball Z series in extreme depth and the Dragon Ball GT series in a lot of depth. I think that each of these Sagas after completed should feel like you completed a whole game.I want Tenkaichi 4 to be at least three times as long as Tenkaichi 3 so if you have to add in some extra made up stuff that would be ok.I also liked the feature in Tenkaichi 2 when you get to fly over the world and go where you want, you should return the feature in Tenkaichi 4.

come on atari you cant leave out the xbox 360 for the whole dbz bt series so plz bring dbz bt4 to the xbox 360 and i dont care about the wii ps3 and ps2 but just plz bring it to the xbox 360 for all the dbz fans that have the xbox 360

alright first of all i want to see all the shadow dragons and the supporting characters in DBGT such as Vegeta, Trunks, Gohan, Goten and etc…
As in the gameplay, I would like the character to counterattack like in one of the DBZ movies where cooler sends like a big fire ball to goku and goku tried to hold it and strikes back with a two handed kamehameha
