Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 might feature a character creator

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is already talked about by the game’s creators. They mention always listening to fan comments and admit that was the reason why they added online multiplayer on Wii and many more characters in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 after Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 on PS2 and Wii. One of the features still missing is a character creator, but that might change in 2008.

To quote Atari producer Donny Clay: “Unfortunately there are some things that are requested by several different fans that we aren’t able to do just yet. For example, one of things we get asked for quite a bit is a completely custom character system from the ground up. Meaning players want to be able to build their own character with their own moves and their own look. This is definitely something I would love to do as well, we just haven’t had the chance to get this into a game yet. Don’t worry though I won’t forget.”

That should come as no surprise since the upcoming Dragon Ball Online MMO game also features a character creator tool that allows you to make your own Saiyan, Human or Namek.

In recent interviews the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 team mentions working on a next-gen game and being a fan of the Xbox 360, so my guess would be that the next DBZ game is coming to not just Wii and PS2, but also Xbox 360 and PS3. Makes sense for them to want to make the graphics look even better and have more online features. Throw in the character creator on top of even more than the 161 characters in the last game and you’ve got yourself Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4.

As the official DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi blog says: “When we’re coming up with a new DBZ game, we first think about what the fans on the forums and message boards have been asking about.” So what do you want in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4?

PS: There’s also a Dragon Ball Z: Budokai “Burst Limit” game in development for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Update May 19th, 2009: After 1.5 years of waiting, the first magazine announcement of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 has been revealed in Japan, where the next Tenkaichi game for Xbox 360 and PS3 is titled Dragon Ball Z: Raging Blast!

Listen. WHAT MADE TENKAICHI SO GOOD WAS THAT IT WAS BASED ON A WELL LIKED ANIME AND THE FIGHT WAS GOOD ! Now it’s time for some brand new paths to be explored. Look at the facts. They juiced out pretty much every character from the series and I for one woud be disappointed if all they could do with the series is add a custom creator and a COUPLE OTHER USELESS CRAP FIGHTERS EVEN IF IT’S COOL TO HAVE THEM IN THE GAME !

I for one would like the fighting animations to be pumped up for nicer affects and more options to string combos. I’d also like a level that has different segments of a level with special attributes. For example. A city fight where you can zip through town fight at the town square or the lake. I’d also like some new characters ! I’ve been thinking about this and have realized a DBZ game wih completely new characters and no KAMEHAMEHA would be lame ! BUT A NEW DBZ GAME WITH A FEW NEW AND UNIQUE CHARACTERS WOULD BE VERY NICE. I want more uniue ki attacks too. I finally would like online tournaments with up to 10 in 1 tournament.

But, this may be too much for Wii, unforunately. I’ll get it for PS3.

Let us fight multiple opponents at the same time. At least 2vs2 fights.

Could be done: add a button to switch between opponents and on the Wii use the pointer to target your ki blasts to the non-locked opponent.

ok PPLZ Atari realy does not have the power to make them go past what the show has done and also some pplz or commenting stuff about AF wich is FAKE!!! so thats not going to happen but adding more GT forms and Characters from Gt like the guy who made baby maby and those 3 brothers and androids 14 and 15 would be cool and how about those shadow dragons and maby the gt forms but the baby version and what about pure evil kid buu
