Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 might feature a character creator

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is already talked about by the game’s creators. They mention always listening to fan comments and admit that was the reason why they added online multiplayer on Wii and many more characters in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 after Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 on PS2 and Wii. One of the features still missing is a character creator, but that might change in 2008.

To quote Atari producer Donny Clay: “Unfortunately there are some things that are requested by several different fans that we aren’t able to do just yet. For example, one of things we get asked for quite a bit is a completely custom character system from the ground up. Meaning players want to be able to build their own character with their own moves and their own look. This is definitely something I would love to do as well, we just haven’t had the chance to get this into a game yet. Don’t worry though I won’t forget.”

That should come as no surprise since the upcoming Dragon Ball Online MMO game also features a character creator tool that allows you to make your own Saiyan, Human or Namek.

In recent interviews the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 team mentions working on a next-gen game and being a fan of the Xbox 360, so my guess would be that the next DBZ game is coming to not just Wii and PS2, but also Xbox 360 and PS3. Makes sense for them to want to make the graphics look even better and have more online features. Throw in the character creator on top of even more than the 161 characters in the last game and you’ve got yourself Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4.

As the official DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi blog says: “When we’re coming up with a new DBZ game, we first think about what the fans on the forums and message boards have been asking about.” So what do you want in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4?

PS: There’s also a Dragon Ball Z: Budokai “Burst Limit” game in development for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Update May 19th, 2009: After 1.5 years of waiting, the first magazine announcement of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 has been revealed in Japan, where the next Tenkaichi game for Xbox 360 and PS3 is titled Dragon Ball Z: Raging Blast!

there needs to be more dragonball Z games for the PS3 and the XBOX360.All im askin is that if you are goin to,make it similar to the budokai tenkaichi 2 and 3. Everybody LOVES the camera angles,battle fields,the number of charecters,fighting styles and special abilities of bt2 and 3 the only thing to improve slightly is the story mode and graphics. It would be good to see if there where a rpg based part in the game where you can lvl up and customize your attacks, even make an character of your liking that would kick ass? also look on youtube there are loads of fans, DB,DBZ,DBGT will never die…but fighting all the time is getting a lil old, there should be more freedom like training your charcter ect. DB has alot of potential to make a great game? like an MMO or like a team based survival. Even a first person veiw based game would be good.

it would be nice to see some af characters and to make your own keep the same characters raging blast is ok but t3 is better

i think they should make the game an rpg were u can walk freely like in dbz sagas but instead kinda like final fantasy where u enter battle sequences but instead of turn based make it like it is just have it to where u can explore the universe and level up and have to find the bosses and shit and add some of those ssj 5 characters to it. that would be sick.

I say first of all that they should put teenager Goten in there and bulma and vegeta’s daughter Bulla …. there should also be all of the arenas where the characters ever fought in the series …. and it also go by sequence not skip huge important parts like tenkaichi 3

so dbzbt4 is coming out even for ps2?
