Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 might feature a character creator

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is already talked about by the game’s creators. They mention always listening to fan comments and admit that was the reason why they added online multiplayer on Wii and many more characters in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 after Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 on PS2 and Wii. One of the features still missing is a character creator, but that might change in 2008.

To quote Atari producer Donny Clay: “Unfortunately there are some things that are requested by several different fans that we aren’t able to do just yet. For example, one of things we get asked for quite a bit is a completely custom character system from the ground up. Meaning players want to be able to build their own character with their own moves and their own look. This is definitely something I would love to do as well, we just haven’t had the chance to get this into a game yet. Don’t worry though I won’t forget.”

That should come as no surprise since the upcoming Dragon Ball Online MMO game also features a character creator tool that allows you to make your own Saiyan, Human or Namek.

In recent interviews the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 team mentions working on a next-gen game and being a fan of the Xbox 360, so my guess would be that the next DBZ game is coming to not just Wii and PS2, but also Xbox 360 and PS3. Makes sense for them to want to make the graphics look even better and have more online features. Throw in the character creator on top of even more than the 161 characters in the last game and you’ve got yourself Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4.

As the official DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi blog says: “When we’re coming up with a new DBZ game, we first think about what the fans on the forums and message boards have been asking about.” So what do you want in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4?

PS: There’s also a Dragon Ball Z: Budokai “Burst Limit” game in development for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Update May 19th, 2009: After 1.5 years of waiting, the first magazine announcement of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 has been revealed in Japan, where the next Tenkaichi game for Xbox 360 and PS3 is titled Dragon Ball Z: Raging Blast!

Arcose – A planet home to the Arcosians, a race responsible for supplying the Saiyans with additional money and technology after conquering the Tuffles.

Arlia – A planet home to an insectoid race under a tyrannical government. Vegeta and Nappa kill the Arlian king before destroying the planet.

Aruhua – A planet that was destroyed by Majin Buu.

Big Gete Star – An artificial machine planet assembled around a self-aware computer chip that becomes integrated with Cooler.

Bihe – An asteroid-like planet, populated by giant worm creatures called Mouma.

Coola No.98. – This is the planet where Salza (and Possibly Jiece) is from

Cretaceous – A planet populated by dinosaur creatures. One of the Black Star Dragon Balls landed here.

Dark Planet – The planet where Dr. Raichi’s escape pod docked.

Dark Star – Yakon’s home planet.

Demon’s Realm – Dabura’s home planet.

Eros – A planet where according to Mr. Popo, an evil dragon surfaced, before moving on to destroying an entire galaxy.

New Namek – The new home planet of the Namekians after the destruction of the original Namek.
New Planet Plant – A planet that Baby wishes into creation, orbiting Earth. It is supposed to be identical to his homeplanet before the Saiyans took over.

New Vegeta – A planet offered to Vegeta by Paragus as a kingdom. It was later destroyed by a comet, known by name as Comet Camori, located in another galaxy.

King Kai’s Planet – A very tiny planet in the Other World, only approximately 100 meters or so in diameter. Despite it’s small size, it has 10x Earth-normal gravity. It is destroyed by Cell’s self-destruction after Goku teleported him there during the Cell Games.

Polaris – A frozen planet. One of the Black Star Dragon Balls landed here.

Rito – A planet that was destroyed by Frieza, where the Zetian and the other orphans originated.

Rudeeze – A desert planet orbiting many stars, populated by giant ant lions. One of the Black Star Dragon Balls landed here.

Snake Way – Serpent Road(??? Hebi no Michi) is a 621,300 mile road, located in the Other World, above Hell, and leads from King Yemma’s palace to King Kai’s planet, and is the only method of getting to the latter (other than teleporting). It took Goku 207 days to reach the end at an average speed of 125 miles per hour. In the anime, it is also the home of Princess Snake, an anime-exclusive filler character who falls in love with Goku.

Rygol-7 – A planet only mentioned by name, when Vegeta explains to Goku how his squad had trouble defending against the advanced technology used by the planet’s people to repel the Saiyans until Bardock developed the “fake moon” technique used to transform into a Great Ape in the absence of a lunar body.

Shamo – A planet enslaved by Paragus and Broly. A neighbor planet of New Vegeta. Was completely destroyed by Broly shortly after he turned into a Legendary Super Saiyan.

Shikk – A planet conquered by Nappa, Raditz, and Vegeta in three days. Frieza, Dodoria and Zarbon teased them saying they’d be able to do it in a much shorter timespan.

Tazba – A planet only mentioned by name, when during one of Frieza’s flashbacks King Vegeta questions a Saiyan warrior on the status of its capture.

Tigere – Home planet of a tiger like creature. One of the Black Star Dragon Balls landed here.

Tritek – A planet only mentioned by name, when Nappa explains that the batch of Saibamen used against the Z Fighters on Earth is the same batch as the “ones that survived that crazy battle on Tritek.”

Vegeta – The planet Vegeta is seen only briefly in the anime and manga, and there is little information given as to its exact nature. What is known is that Vegeta possesses ten times the gravity of planet Earth. The planet Vegeta was originally called Plant, and was at this time home to two races: the Tuffles and the Saiyans. The Tuffles were a diminutive race who lacked physical strength and toughness, but were very intelligent and skilled with technology. By contrast, the Saiyans were a but very strong powerful but primitive race. The Saiyans killed off the Tuffles and took the planet for their own. Frieza soon took over, and used the Saiyans to take over planets. He eventually destroyed it to keep the Super Saiyan of legend from emerging.

Yardrat – The planet where Goku learned Instant Transmission.

i think first you have to beat every saga at least on normal then go back and when you pick a fight you will now see “Mission” on the list its 3 requirement for pink stars collect 20 pink stars then go buy the one that says “Legendary Super Saiyan Reborn” at the “Star Shop” unlock it then beat it on any mode and you will recieve “SSJ3 Broly” I prefer “SSJ3 Vegeta” anyways he’s a whole lot fast

and plz to the writers and developers of the next game make this the ultamte game not the last but the ultamate like every single character and a 5 day straight saga and only give us 5 characters at the begginging only goku krillin piccolo tien yamcha and chioutzu, to make the game harder put a character creator every single arena even inside buus stomack and make that it goes to ssj5 plz we want an ultamate game and call it dragon ball extreme or dragon ballz forever but don’t make this our last one just the ultamate one in the tenchachi serious we and all the dbz fans want this game plz put it on the rack for us
