Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 might feature a character creator

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is already talked about by the game’s creators. They mention always listening to fan comments and admit that was the reason why they added online multiplayer on Wii and many more characters in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 after Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 on PS2 and Wii. One of the features still missing is a character creator, but that might change in 2008.

To quote Atari producer Donny Clay: “Unfortunately there are some things that are requested by several different fans that we aren’t able to do just yet. For example, one of things we get asked for quite a bit is a completely custom character system from the ground up. Meaning players want to be able to build their own character with their own moves and their own look. This is definitely something I would love to do as well, we just haven’t had the chance to get this into a game yet. Don’t worry though I won’t forget.”

That should come as no surprise since the upcoming Dragon Ball Online MMO game also features a character creator tool that allows you to make your own Saiyan, Human or Namek.

In recent interviews the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 team mentions working on a next-gen game and being a fan of the Xbox 360, so my guess would be that the next DBZ game is coming to not just Wii and PS2, but also Xbox 360 and PS3. Makes sense for them to want to make the graphics look even better and have more online features. Throw in the character creator on top of even more than the 161 characters in the last game and you’ve got yourself Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4.

As the official DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi blog says: “When we’re coming up with a new DBZ game, we first think about what the fans on the forums and message boards have been asking about.” So what do you want in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4?

PS: There’s also a Dragon Ball Z: Budokai “Burst Limit” game in development for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Update May 19th, 2009: After 1.5 years of waiting, the first magazine announcement of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 has been revealed in Japan, where the next Tenkaichi game for Xbox 360 and PS3 is titled Dragon Ball Z: Raging Blast!

hi im a big fan of your guys dragon ball z budokai tenkaichi 1 2 3. can you guys put in all z fighters to transform? is there going to be more z fighters that never be in the last 3 budokai tenkaichi games for the dragon ball raging blast? i hope so that wood be cool?

please can you guys put in all the fighting characters from db to dbgt including movies. please put in the bruce faulconer music too, the game would be sick with the american music of dbz in it. oh and can there be a character creator, it might be cool if people can create those dbaf characters. thanks

Bra should also be able to go super sayian her and pan plus i think pan and her should fuse and be call ban and also i think marron should be on there to i think she has some fighting ability at least give her a rushing attack and shoot ki blast people always forget her let marron take the spotlight for once i bet she would be a good fighter even though she can do rush attack and shoot ki blast but let her ki blast go long distance not like videl who only goes short please let her be on there and make her unlockable so can already play her that goes for bulla and pan to please and one more thing is bulla on tenkaichi 3 i think when u make a wish they will have her name on there and you can replace her with a another person

I so agree marron should be on there oh and bulla is on tenkaichi 3 you just have to wish for her when u run out of wishes and marron rush attack i think they should be one when she hits her oppment and in the face and krillin and 18 comes and knock the oppment out and then blast them oh and when marron fights someone she knows like her mom she can say mom i don’t want to fight you then 18 says sorry for doing this to you marron and if she wins she could say i’m a lot stronger then i thought and for krillin he could say dad don’t be a whip fight me thin krillin says i don’t want to fight my own daughter and if she wins she would say dad you suck and if its pan she could say you may be my friend but its go time then pan says lets go marron and if she wins she would say pan i thought you were strong and if its bulla she would say goten wants a tough girl and bulla says lets go she wins and says princess of saiyan princess of loser because there fighting over goten

The fact that he described it like “from the ground up” and “own moves and look” makes me think the feature would be a very in-depth create tool. Usually theyll say you can create your own character and thats it but I def think we’ll be seeing this and really hope its a good mode.
I also agree with having more personal prefight quotes to people they know or even some people they really dont know like in Naruto UNS or SoulCalibur4.

Look this is a small request but it would be a nice feature.
Instead of the power level bar put a scouter on the screen along with
Numbers just like in the show.
That would be cool to see if someones power level could be 9000 and another one 10000.

Also in Final bout 22 you were able to level up your punch, kick, combo, and blast strength just by fighting so maybe you guys could take something from that.

It looks like there will be something like character creator.
I have read something about custom attacks and clothing customs.
Don’t know if you can edit hair or boddy -but this gonna save this game.
In latest news they say:
-only 40-50 characters(with transf.70) and for everyone 3 outfits.
Sou finally 120 “characters”…really bad!
Hope for seriously CAC.
