Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 might feature a character creator

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is already talked about by the game’s creators. They mention always listening to fan comments and admit that was the reason why they added online multiplayer on Wii and many more characters in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 after Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 on PS2 and Wii. One of the features still missing is a character creator, but that might change in 2008.

To quote Atari producer Donny Clay: “Unfortunately there are some things that are requested by several different fans that we aren’t able to do just yet. For example, one of things we get asked for quite a bit is a completely custom character system from the ground up. Meaning players want to be able to build their own character with their own moves and their own look. This is definitely something I would love to do as well, we just haven’t had the chance to get this into a game yet. Don’t worry though I won’t forget.”

That should come as no surprise since the upcoming Dragon Ball Online MMO game also features a character creator tool that allows you to make your own Saiyan, Human or Namek.

In recent interviews the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 team mentions working on a next-gen game and being a fan of the Xbox 360, so my guess would be that the next DBZ game is coming to not just Wii and PS2, but also Xbox 360 and PS3. Makes sense for them to want to make the graphics look even better and have more online features. Throw in the character creator on top of even more than the 161 characters in the last game and you’ve got yourself Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4.

As the official DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi blog says: “When we’re coming up with a new DBZ game, we first think about what the fans on the forums and message boards have been asking about.” So what do you want in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4?

PS: There’s also a Dragon Ball Z: Budokai “Burst Limit” game in development for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Update May 19th, 2009: After 1.5 years of waiting, the first magazine announcement of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 has been revealed in Japan, where the next Tenkaichi game for Xbox 360 and PS3 is titled Dragon Ball Z: Raging Blast!

There is a Japan only DBZ game with great graphics and actual 2 on 2 fights how un fair is that? I think its called DBZ Carddass W Impact (i dont think thats the real name)

i personally think that they have more than enough i mean if the wii can support 161 characters and still run great then whats holding the ps3 and 360 back from having like 200 plus characters, but if they do keep it at 80-90 characters then i say the hell with GT so we can get all the characters from the DBZ sagas in there an i mean minor henchmen and every so they can fit in every battle that happened in DBZ, and then if they make a sequal they can include GT or maybe make one just for GT

Raging Blast can be the Complete DBZ game and Raging Blast 2 can be the complete DBGT game

dbZ fAn: I have to agree with Vin, if they could pull it off last console generation, they should easily be able to add all DBZ/GT characters in one game on these next-gen consoles. But I think the developers wanted to start over and slowly add more characters with each game.

I think it’s lame they ignore fans wanting GT characters. But if they are ignoring what we’ve been asking for for years, I don’t know what else we can do instead of hoping they’ll improve it with the next game.

Yea with Blue Ray dics they could easily make a DB/DBZ/GT game with jus about every character, more levels, fully destructive levels, more game modes, and jus bout anything else you can think of. But it wont happend since its coming out for both systems. If it was PS3 exclusive they could jus throw it all on a dual layered BD.

i think your wrong AK-47 i mean like i said before if DBZBT3 for the wii had about 75%-80% of the characters ever shown in DB,DBZ,DBGT, had 20 different stages and had moderatley destructive enviroments, and over 10 game modes then the 360 would have more than enough memory space to include everything you asked for and then some

maybe the Devs. are just too lazy

Things I think DBZRB needs

1 a charecter creator how awesome would it be to have your very own fighter face of against Goku and friends - Things this mode would need : Create a transformation create their clothing

2- 2 on 2 fights I think it would be aamazing if there were 2 on 2 fights where there were actualy 4 fighters on the screen at the same time. Things this mode would need : team finishers were say kid goten uses his kammehammeha and kid trunks uses finish buster on Goku Also if goten gets in a beam struggle with goku then trunks can blast him and then a cut scene would be triggered now this wouldnt make it impossible for goku to win if say he were in base form when the clash started then he could power up during the struggle triggering another cut scene could have the adventage but this wouldnt make it impossible for trunks and goten to win then basically even if goku stayed in base form for the clash he could still win trunks and goten would just have a better chance of winning and if goku were to weakkkkkk then his 2 on 2 partner say vegeta could try to help goku but to do so I think vegeta should have to do a button mashing sequence or something like that and the weaker goku is at the time of the clash the harder it is for vegeta to get there and help If vegeta cant help the weakend goku against Gotens blast then trunks could blast goku and finish him off triggering a c ut scene Also i think it would be cool if there could be 2 side by side clashes and if during one clash the other 2 fighters could be off to the side still fighting
THIS WOULD BE A NEW MODE IN DUEL AND MAYBE HAVE SOME FIGHTS LIKE THIS IN THE STORY like raditz vs piccolo and goku.

3 Freedom to go where you want in the game- just fly around where you need to in story and also have in the fights the option to transiton to other stages like say you start out in the mountian area then you fly up and then a cut scene and then your on korins tower.

4 Ability to walk and run-I think by hitting say L3 on the PS3 you should be able to walk onthe ground and run after your opponent and by hitting it again you could fly

and with the 2v2 thing u can also change it around an make it like 3v1 or 1v3(if u rlly wanna test ur skill)

i about 100% certain that u wont see a ssj4 version of gohan or trunks or any other character that wasent in the show but if they put the character creator in then we could make our own ssj4’s and what we think a fusion between trunks and gohan or gohan an goku would look like
