Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 might feature a character creator

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is already talked about by the game’s creators. They mention always listening to fan comments and admit that was the reason why they added online multiplayer on Wii and many more characters in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 after Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 on PS2 and Wii. One of the features still missing is a character creator, but that might change in 2008.

To quote Atari producer Donny Clay: “Unfortunately there are some things that are requested by several different fans that we aren’t able to do just yet. For example, one of things we get asked for quite a bit is a completely custom character system from the ground up. Meaning players want to be able to build their own character with their own moves and their own look. This is definitely something I would love to do as well, we just haven’t had the chance to get this into a game yet. Don’t worry though I won’t forget.”

That should come as no surprise since the upcoming Dragon Ball Online MMO game also features a character creator tool that allows you to make your own Saiyan, Human or Namek.

In recent interviews the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 team mentions working on a next-gen game and being a fan of the Xbox 360, so my guess would be that the next DBZ game is coming to not just Wii and PS2, but also Xbox 360 and PS3. Makes sense for them to want to make the graphics look even better and have more online features. Throw in the character creator on top of even more than the 161 characters in the last game and you’ve got yourself Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4.

As the official DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi blog says: “When we’re coming up with a new DBZ game, we first think about what the fans on the forums and message boards have been asking about.” So what do you want in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4?

PS: There’s also a Dragon Ball Z: Budokai “Burst Limit” game in development for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Update May 19th, 2009: After 1.5 years of waiting, the first magazine announcement of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 has been revealed in Japan, where the next Tenkaichi game for Xbox 360 and PS3 is titled Dragon Ball Z: Raging Blast!

for the number guy’s comment I was talking more about power levels more than the scouters, but for your idea on the scouters thats pretty cool, and for Luke’s comment I guess they should make it were characters that can transform but are not that strong like kid Trunks or Goten, transform when their specific power level gets really high.What I’m saying is that characters should have power levels that suit them. Then that character’s power level gets really strong [when they transform] like when Goku transformed to ssj while fighting Frieza. Other than all that I see what you are saying Luke.

They could use energy bars like there power levels

Like if goku has 2 bars and he wants to go super saiyan ( but to go full super saiyan he needs 4+ bars) So instead he goes False Super saiyan

It will be like power levels but with out using the number scale of scouters.

yeah I guess thats okay but I want to at least see some change when your character gets stronger. Like with Dominic’s idea, when you have MAX energy bars I want to see a WHOLE LOT of power like ground cracking, dirt/rocks flying, [in water areas] water exploding, mountains blowing up. I just hope they use some kind of way of adding power levels, I think it would help the game alot + make it cooler

PS:it would be cool with Dominc’s idea that when lets say Goku has more than 4 bars of energy that he transforms to ssj but the ssj has alot more power than with Goku transforming with exactly 4 energy bars.

I haven’t chose tenkaichi 3 so I don’t know if they in that either.

THIS IS MY BROTHERS COMMENT:

Captain Ginyu, should be able to fly up into the sky using his max power and search for someone to absorb, such as Goku, Krillin, Gohan, etc. This should only be able to be done as a max power transformation.

MY VEIW ON CAPTAIN GINYU:

I think that Captain Ginyu should just change to his opponent just like in the Budokai series. This would be a big advantage as you could lower your health on purpose like Ginyu did on Goku then change character.

That way he can pick who ever is one the stage to change with

i think in dragonball z budokai tenkaichi 4 !

they should have EVERY character and EVERY episode in dragonball , dragonball z AND dragonball gt and the movies like the 2nd one exsept they should put there armies in ASWELL this time and create your own character and 2 player training plus yu should be able to use the gravity chamber be able to play at 100 x gravity and kami and everything

but the thing i dont get about dbz games
like captain ginyu , buu , cell and babidi and baby and teen goten and teen trunks oh and also a few others

if they cann all obsorb people howcome they can only obsorb people in the episode when they can obsorb any1 its abit stupid and you cant evan be majin buu when he obsorbs piccolo thats stupid aswell plus why cant you be teen goten and teen trunks and baby can turn any1 into baby form but why just vageta and you cant evan be baby on the game ONLY baby vageta and stuff why not just baby ASWELL and great ape baby as a seperate character the other shenrons like nover shenron and ice shenron that would be ALOT better

and babidi can turn people majn but why only vageta its abit daft

and captain ginyu should be able to transform into other bodies not just gokus

and there should be a 2 player story mode and a tournament free battle

and super saiyan 4 shouldant be a seperate character it should be a all in one

there should be more what if? stories and the story shouldlast ALOT longer but instead off the game clips like when goku says - im gonna stop you freiza and stuff like that they should put the real clips in from the show

they should be more arenas like new namek , space gravity chamber , king kais planet and the leval where they fight janema i thinkits hell , inside the lace where they fight garlic jr in that building ,babidis space ship where goku fights that energy obsorbing monster forgot his name lol the city without beeing ruined like in budokai series , the actual sky and the snake way bit where goku falls and fights them people

and you should be able to go along snake way on your own and when you fight you should be able to fly from one island to aother one or fly from a city to another arena like from master roshies island to the island like on the show and stuff and you should be able fly as far up as you want like from the ground into the sky and further pup where you cant see the ground and fly into space

they shouldant have - the blast and fightin thing where you move the pad thing left to right becouse i HATE it and its quite hard to do when you got sore hands they should just clash start fightin and no1 wins its also fair fighting

and why does trunks , janemba and dabura have to use a sword the should only use the sword as a ultimate special like he did on freiza

now with the sagas you should be able to play from the first episode off dragonball to the first episode off dragoball z then to dragonball gt exsept they should have EVERY player EVERY arena and EVERY army in them like the episode with the right costumes for the right levels then unlocking EVERY arena EVERY costumes EVERY level ups

for the players you hsould be able to fight every1 like the episodes like i said earlier and unlock them ALL and play as EVERY1 that is in the dragonball dragonball z and dragonball gt

and i think EVERYONE will agree with me coz its not fair on me and not just me EVERY1 else plus its rather taking piss outa the show playing threw z and gt and the movies without the original dragonball and without all the players and armies so its not realy the episodes or movies without them its just like a remake with less armies and people so thats CRAP

so make it like the shows episodes and original dragonball dragonbll z dragonball gt and the movies with ALL the arenas players and costumes

so can you PLEASE do that for us ALL and trust me dragonball z budokai tenkaichi 4 will be the best dbz game EVER and will be the great all time hit

and this is about the dragonball af right just coz japan and china make them and us englesh and americans and stuff only dub them n out language and stuff why cant it come out in our countrys aswell instead off taking like AGES

I agree wit the anime clips in story mode
It would be easier and atari could save money and memory

For sword characters, there should be like a button to push that enables you to switch from sword to hands
