Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 might feature a character creator

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is already talked about by the game’s creators. They mention always listening to fan comments and admit that was the reason why they added online multiplayer on Wii and many more characters in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 after Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 on PS2 and Wii. One of the features still missing is a character creator, but that might change in 2008.

To quote Atari producer Donny Clay: “Unfortunately there are some things that are requested by several different fans that we aren’t able to do just yet. For example, one of things we get asked for quite a bit is a completely custom character system from the ground up. Meaning players want to be able to build their own character with their own moves and their own look. This is definitely something I would love to do as well, we just haven’t had the chance to get this into a game yet. Don’t worry though I won’t forget.”

That should come as no surprise since the upcoming Dragon Ball Online MMO game also features a character creator tool that allows you to make your own Saiyan, Human or Namek.

In recent interviews the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 team mentions working on a next-gen game and being a fan of the Xbox 360, so my guess would be that the next DBZ game is coming to not just Wii and PS2, but also Xbox 360 and PS3. Makes sense for them to want to make the graphics look even better and have more online features. Throw in the character creator on top of even more than the 161 characters in the last game and you’ve got yourself Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4.

As the official DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi blog says: “When we’re coming up with a new DBZ game, we first think about what the fans on the forums and message boards have been asking about.” So what do you want in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4?

PS: There’s also a Dragon Ball Z: Budokai “Burst Limit” game in development for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Update May 19th, 2009: After 1.5 years of waiting, the first magazine announcement of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 has been revealed in Japan, where the next Tenkaichi game for Xbox 360 and PS3 is titled Dragon Ball Z: Raging Blast!

Man Im tellin you if it is just one goku and vegeta the game would be better.

Im not trying to knock off Goku (gt)

But I miss in Budokai 3 how goku had all his transformations in one character. And I miss how I can go Supersaiyan while vegeta has on his saiyan scouter armor.

And if there is one goku, atari would be forced to have more moves to add to each character. Like I said before everybody knows damn well Perfect cell has more than 3 moves.

And who doesnt miss how the explosions looked in Budokai 3.

For the next Budokai game it should have the following characters Vegeta(GT), Trunks(GT), Goten(GT), Gohan (GT), and fusion Gotenks(GT). Basically the next game should have all the the GT characters and users can create their own characters not just for online play only.

Hello again.
One of the things I think would be great to upgrade would be the range in which you can fly. If it were possible, why not be able to fly up to space. If not up to space, please at least give us some more hight from the ground. If you are fighting from outside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber you should be able to fly down to the ground and should have a wider radious to fly in. I think you should be able to hold a shot charge for as long as you want. I think it would be pretty neat and more Dragon Ball like, if your charactor would tire out, making it harder to do some moves or not be able to do some at all. Face it, those dudes got tired out in almost all of their fights. I really agree with the whole training your character thing. I think it would really help fans and games when it comes to wanting to play more for progression. I would love to bring a Sayajin to a SSJ level or a Namek to a Super Namek. I hope they can get rid of the duplacate character crap, thats pretty anoying, unless its a huge change from young to older. Eh, who knows what they will do for next game. Just hope they dont stop with Tenkaichi 3. There are more things I thought of but I’v gots to get to bed im mad tired. Later @(^o^)@

I think they should have a charater creator because who doesn’t dream of being a z fighter or even fighting against there favorite charater. It would even make the game more popular. Just think about it the game would sell even more to all audiences. Even if that person wasn’t a dragonball z fan he or she would become one then. It would be great.

also old school fan was right have more flying room more flying room means longer fight cause the fights or exciting when playin good competition. Also the game should’nt be 2d no more it makes it look to cartoonish. You could get into the game more. having the charator creator would also have more people online fighting against eachother to see who’s the best. Just think about it.

how about actually have every part of the story for example in tenchaichi 3 skips from vegeta fighting 19 straight to 2nd stage cell just ridiculous

They should at least make one more Tenkaichi, with every bit of story line from dragon ball to dragon ball gt and there so close to having just about every character available so that couldnt be to big of a problem. also it needs a new style of fighting like maybe four people at the same time flying around and hitting each other. Also a new kind of story mode like how spider man 2′s video game was, were you can fly around the dbz world and land on the ground and do what ever you want. And as for Dragon ball z Burst Limit that game looks kinda stupid why would we want to go back to 2d fighting like in the budokai series I meen I thought they had a good thing going with tenkaichi. I dont know those are just suggestions Please MAKE A DRAGON BALL Z BUDOKAI TENKAICHI 4!!!!
