Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 might feature a character creator

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is already talked about by the game’s creators. They mention always listening to fan comments and admit that was the reason why they added online multiplayer on Wii and many more characters in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 after Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 on PS2 and Wii. One of the features still missing is a character creator, but that might change in 2008.

To quote Atari producer Donny Clay: “Unfortunately there are some things that are requested by several different fans that we aren’t able to do just yet. For example, one of things we get asked for quite a bit is a completely custom character system from the ground up. Meaning players want to be able to build their own character with their own moves and their own look. This is definitely something I would love to do as well, we just haven’t had the chance to get this into a game yet. Don’t worry though I won’t forget.”

That should come as no surprise since the upcoming Dragon Ball Online MMO game also features a character creator tool that allows you to make your own Saiyan, Human or Namek.

In recent interviews the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 team mentions working on a next-gen game and being a fan of the Xbox 360, so my guess would be that the next DBZ game is coming to not just Wii and PS2, but also Xbox 360 and PS3. Makes sense for them to want to make the graphics look even better and have more online features. Throw in the character creator on top of even more than the 161 characters in the last game and you’ve got yourself Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4.

As the official DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi blog says: “When we’re coming up with a new DBZ game, we first think about what the fans on the forums and message boards have been asking about.” So what do you want in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4?

PS: There’s also a Dragon Ball Z: Budokai “Burst Limit” game in development for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Update May 19th, 2009: After 1.5 years of waiting, the first magazine announcement of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 has been revealed in Japan, where the next Tenkaichi game for Xbox 360 and PS3 is titled Dragon Ball Z: Raging Blast!

i think it would be awsome if there is create a character mode, plus i wana see more than just 3 specials, and instant transmition should be more faster and requiers energy not blast 1 guage, u should also add more cinematic attacks, and when ur character powers up i wana see rocks flying and dust and all that detail, bring back da world’s explosion from b3, b3′s explosion wuz awsome, better graphics and bring all the songs from all dbz games, so no one complains about that,

i have already written about wat charcters and improvements i want.
but i’d also like to say improve some characters from the precious games. mainly one of my favourite character from the series nuova shenron. he is supposed to be fast (even more than ssj4) but in the game he is too slow in hand to hand combat so make his punches and combat ability faster. also his finisher is disgraceful. hardly does damage so change it to his real finisher he did on omega in the cartoon. dat will be wicked and instead of dat rubbish tornado move, it should be replaced with his magnifying sun energy move, forgot wat its called again. i’ll remember later but u know wat i mean.
also have his first form and the u cud give him dat cra**y tornado move and dat shi**y finisher to his first form.
also have his brother eis shenron in da game plz.
also make videl cra**er then she is coz she ent as good as u made her in the previous (or should i say current) games, i mean hercule can’t even effect her and i know he’s weak but she didn’t get powerful to the point he can’t touch her, even though hercule effects no one but he should effect her.
also improve ultimate gohan. gohan is my favourite and although he has a good finisher and a good hand to hand skills his 2 special beams are not good to me. the charge up kamehameha is just too hard to connect against an opponent dats good and explosive wave, well don’t get me started on dat. they should make the kamehameha a non charge one and make it a regular beam like goku’s ten time in t3. also replace explosive wave and give him something like masenko or something, my minds just gone blank. i hate it wen this happens but u guys know wat i mean and cud find a move to give him.
dats all i cud think of now.
atari i hope u are reading coz there i would love little changes like this coz it will make characters better to play. i would love little changes like this too with the big changes that i and others in this forum have said.

also add characters such as eis shenron, general rildo (all froms), ledgic, gt goten and gt trunks, and hatchyack. and all other shadow dragons.
*have all forms of each character i written e.g ssj goten and mole form and pan form of naturon shenron.
also once again have eis shenron.

I think “sa dbz fan” above me forgot about a couple things. ADD TORA, BIO-BROLY, DENDE, KAMI, the KAIS, ANDROIDS 14 and15, PARAGUS, DR.MYU and then just add some of friezas or bojacks or collers henchmen or something (along with general rildo, ledgic, gt goten, trunks, and vegeta, hatchyack, and all the other shadow dragons that “sa dbz fan” was talking about)

I agree with “sa dbz fan” that just the little changes about characters (along with a character creater that I talked about on page 125) would make the game much better. The thing that I really want to see happen is have like 3 blast 1s, 3 blast 2s, and 2 ultimate blasts. It can get boring with just 5 major attacks that you can do. 8 would be better. Also another thing that I would like is have up to like 4 or so characters playing at the same time. In the shows its not just 1on 1 its like everybody fighting (you could do this with a split screen). Also if there was a house or something you could go in it (so your have to make the houses and everything bigger). My last comment right now would be to MAKE THE GAME FOR WII!!!!!!!

Alright Atari you better read this one because i’m gonna add evrything into this OKAY!!

1) Add way more characters, look at all the characters there are that have never been in the games before such as (add these):
GT Goten (ssj), GT Trunks (ssj), GT Gohan (ssj, ssj2), GT Vegeta (ssj, ssj2, ssj4), All the shenrons (including transformations, Goku jr (ssj), Vegeta jr (ssj), Bio-Broly, Baby ( you should start as the oringinal form- next form- then pick from people such as (Baby Goten (ssj) )( Baby Trunks ssj) )( Baby Vegeta (super baby vegeta, super baby vegeta 2 and golden ape). All people on all episodes that fight (Watch all dragonball, Z and Gt episodes and look at all people that fight.
2) Add the character creator- You should be able to pick from a good saiyan, evil saiyan, namek, frieza family, cell family, buu family, android family, human (including weapons), janemba family, hirydagan family, baby family, shenron family.
3) As eahc species you should have to create them as a kid, teenager, adult, gt, final.
4) as a saiyan you should follow the story of goku from kid to final, so do all dragonball saga, the dragonball saga al the enemies such as frieza, cell, buu etc should all be killed by your charcter. Add some sagas for a teenager. Create your own suites for eahc person so have atleast 3 suites for each form e.g goku suite for a kid, gohan’s for teenager, goku’s for adult etc.
5) select your own moves. As a kid you should get kamehameha, a move that beats, ki volley blast, etc. them up and for max power a move of your own choice etc.
6) Add more moves instead of 3 put 5, 3 gets boring then there is more variety. 2 max powers, and 3 normal.
7) add more gauge moves and abilitys, wild sence should lock on straight away, after image should make fake people of your character, so they should lock onto a fake person until you hit them, they lock onto the real one etc.
Everyone at atari, and all DBZ fans evrywhere have thought of dragonball AF. Add some of those people and the fantasy fusions, but class them as Af e.g goku AF.

Goku Af ( ssj, ssj2, ssj3, ssj4, ssj5 and ssj6)
Gotenks Af kid ( ssj, ssj3, ssj4)
Bardock AF (ssj)
????? Goten + vegeta fusion

10) Make it so the game comes with a microphone so you can do the characters voice
11) be able to do more fusions e.g Goku only fuses with vegeta in the cartoon. Make it so that you can fuse with more so character + trunks, character + goku, you get it
12) Make it so charcters gain exp that allows them to get better moves e.g you have kamehameha, if you have enough exp you go to the capsule place and change it for super hamehameha
13) Make it so you roam around the city, instead of just fighting. You can land in a city and explore it to find dragonballs instead of getting them in battle. And the shop etc.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY READ THIS ATARI AS IF YOU DO THIS WILL BE THE BEST DRAGONBALL Z GAME EVER. ALSO READ EVRYONE ELSES COMMENTS PLEASE, IM SURE THEY HAVE MORE THINGS THAN ME. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY MAKE THE GAME, THIS TOOK ME 2 HOURS TO WRITE ALL THIS SO PLEASE READ MINE AND EVRYONE ELSES, PLEASE

Atari, if you truly are reading this then why the **** havent you said anything about this game coming out yet. LISTEN TO WHAT 9898946447 said. Also if you want to figure out how to do a character creator then just let us pick stuff from different characters. For example choose Gokus kamehameha, vegetas controls, trunks hair etc. Then for the ultimate blast we choose different parts of someones rush attack and finish off with a blast (also allow us to add little stuff like grabbing them by the neck, or punching them away or stomping on their head etc.

Man Atari aint readin this. If they wuz reading tha blog they would have at least told us. I want to list some sh*t to add too but all were doing if fantasing on something that we are not even sure its gonna happen.

well done dominic. finally sum1 responded. so at least sum1 is reading these. atari u best be too.
i think i know y they ent sed anything yet. i think they r waitin for the hype of burst limits to dye down a bit before mentioning anything bout t4 because they don’t want tenkaichi 4 announcement to over shadow the release of burst limits. so this means we cud be waitin couple more weeks if their is an announcement on t4. also i think if they announce it they will just say its cumin out and reveal aspects of the game in the e3 game show which is in mid july i think.

I hope the guy above me is right. That would make tons more sense. I just hope they tell the release date some time before summer is over. Some stuff I’d like them to add is more characters [Goku and Vegeta jr.'s especially],for characters to have all different moves not just like for 20 characters to all have this cruddy energy volley stuff [I can understand if like more than 3 characters have Kamahamaha though],SMALLER CHARACTERS-you guys make ALL and I mean ALL the smaller characters really weak. Now I can understand some of them being weak but like Goku GT he’s small but he’s stronger than Tenkaichi 3 makes him, I also want them to improve the small things like warping. I’d like to see cooler,longer,faster warping like in the anime in the games so far all they do is these slow “get out of the way warps” in the anime the warping and attacks while warping made it the coolest thing ever.also one last thing make the story mode like an RPG like in TEnkaichi 2 but you can go in the cities and look for dragonballs and stuff.

add in every character in DBZ history, character creator,more arenas, more and cooler moves and thats the best game in the universe

I would buy that and spread the word about it too. I hope you liked my ideas.
