Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 might feature a character creator

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is already talked about by the game’s creators. They mention always listening to fan comments and admit that was the reason why they added online multiplayer on Wii and many more characters in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 after Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 on PS2 and Wii. One of the features still missing is a character creator, but that might change in 2008.

To quote Atari producer Donny Clay: “Unfortunately there are some things that are requested by several different fans that we aren’t able to do just yet. For example, one of things we get asked for quite a bit is a completely custom character system from the ground up. Meaning players want to be able to build their own character with their own moves and their own look. This is definitely something I would love to do as well, we just haven’t had the chance to get this into a game yet. Don’t worry though I won’t forget.”

That should come as no surprise since the upcoming Dragon Ball Online MMO game also features a character creator tool that allows you to make your own Saiyan, Human or Namek.

In recent interviews the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 team mentions working on a next-gen game and being a fan of the Xbox 360, so my guess would be that the next DBZ game is coming to not just Wii and PS2, but also Xbox 360 and PS3. Makes sense for them to want to make the graphics look even better and have more online features. Throw in the character creator on top of even more than the 161 characters in the last game and you’ve got yourself Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4.

As the official DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi blog says: “When we’re coming up with a new DBZ game, we first think about what the fans on the forums and message boards have been asking about.” So what do you want in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4?

PS: There’s also a Dragon Ball Z: Budokai “Burst Limit” game in development for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Update May 19th, 2009: After 1.5 years of waiting, the first magazine announcement of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 has been revealed in Japan, where the next Tenkaichi game for Xbox 360 and PS3 is titled Dragon Ball Z: Raging Blast!

you guys really need to make tenkaichi 4 because im a fan of dbz for a long time and im not going to buy burst limit because the lack of story,it doesnt even go up to majin buu,forget it i want one that goes up to gt and passes it.then ill waist 60 dollars on a game i know ill enjoy.

please have pan super sayan form , have goku super sayan 1 to10 and vegeta 1 to9 and please put even the small hench men such as yakon and mr popo tht would be cool oh and gokan super sayan 1 to 6 and tell every one when its coming out ..
and maybe put new and old epsodes back on tv

Yes! i would love to see dbz budokai tenkaichi 4 for the ps2 and xbox 360! I would like to see kami, popo, launch, yakon, all of the kais, GT trunks and goten, bardocks whole team, uibu, adult chi chi, the 2 demon guys from HFIL, king yema, bubbles, gregory, crane hermit, corrin, spice boys, goku with halo, oxe king, and master mutihito. It would also be cool if it had an added mode with leveling of character and stats. And definately more what if senarios! Man i love DBZ!

what a GREAT IDEA LVL UP THE CHARACTER LIKE AN RPG LIKE HOW FAST YOU CAN DODGE USING INSTANT TRANSMISSSION OR POWER UP YOUR KAMEHAMEHA OMG I WOULD LOVE THAT!!!

also for tenkaichi 4 you know how vegito powers up to become super vegito and he looks more tall than normal yea they defenatley need to put that feature in so it looks more beleivable ,if they did all of this i will surely buy it and so will my friends.

for the guy above me,i think that is an extremely good idea about using instant transmission to dodge the enemy or slow down time so you could pull out a special move or a full combo,but if they do this they need an extra bar below your health,like an endurance bar that depletes if you use the moves alot.

I think it wil be great. The create a character will be impressive if they can include it. It would be good if they can create people from af. Also can you have Goku jr and vegeta jr. Also if they could fuse.
