Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 might feature a character creator

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is already talked about by the game’s creators. They mention always listening to fan comments and admit that was the reason why they added online multiplayer on Wii and many more characters in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 after Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 on PS2 and Wii. One of the features still missing is a character creator, but that might change in 2008.

To quote Atari producer Donny Clay: “Unfortunately there are some things that are requested by several different fans that we aren’t able to do just yet. For example, one of things we get asked for quite a bit is a completely custom character system from the ground up. Meaning players want to be able to build their own character with their own moves and their own look. This is definitely something I would love to do as well, we just haven’t had the chance to get this into a game yet. Don’t worry though I won’t forget.”

That should come as no surprise since the upcoming Dragon Ball Online MMO game also features a character creator tool that allows you to make your own Saiyan, Human or Namek.

In recent interviews the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 team mentions working on a next-gen game and being a fan of the Xbox 360, so my guess would be that the next DBZ game is coming to not just Wii and PS2, but also Xbox 360 and PS3. Makes sense for them to want to make the graphics look even better and have more online features. Throw in the character creator on top of even more than the 161 characters in the last game and you’ve got yourself Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4.

As the official DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi blog says: “When we’re coming up with a new DBZ game, we first think about what the fans on the forums and message boards have been asking about.” So what do you want in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4?

PS: There’s also a Dragon Ball Z: Budokai “Burst Limit” game in development for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Update May 19th, 2009: After 1.5 years of waiting, the first magazine announcement of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 has been revealed in Japan, where the next Tenkaichi game for Xbox 360 and PS3 is titled Dragon Ball Z: Raging Blast!

i think atari should just release dbz budokai tenkaichi 3 again but this time for the ps3 more

I want a good Dragonball Game that goes through the entire series (DB, DBZ, DBGT) and that has a good fighting engine and i want them to go through all the movies. That would be awesome, I hope to god they dont make a movie game based on the new Dragonball Movie, that would be retarded

Personaly I want everything in this game like everyone else does. You have to admit though that they can’t add everything like character creator I’d want that to but i can’t imagine how hard that would be to put in a game. Overall I’d like all the characters [ not AF], more moves, more modes, and I’d like them to say the freakin release date already!

i think they most make the gam more like the anime no yust a fighting game but something like gta freeroam,you can train you get stronger and you see that by your velosety+atacks ect if the poeple from atary yust open their eyes and realise that we want nextgen not yust a fighting game,they can created a world that is so big that you can play and deside if you will be a hero or not with otheres online players also i think they must get rid off that cartony graphics and make the charachter like in the intro ,imagine you can created your own character and that you can distroy a hola city or a world i think atary must think about those posebeletys i was dreaming to have a game like this even before i got a ps1 and that was 6 to 7 years ago and im 21 right now,whith the new blueray disc from sony atary must try togo as far they can go and money its not a problem cus if the game have every thing it would sell mutch more then gta4 also in the world when you play online it must be conected to some company so they could stay makin more planets and rebuild distroyd citys come on atary use all that money you guys gettin fom us and make somethin we whant

I want them also to improve the small things not just the graphics like better destructible areas ex: I don’t think it should be as easy to break everything I think you should only be allowed to break things when you go to a stronger power level. Also I think they should have different power levels without exactly transforming [like that Burst limit thing you can do when you have low Hp] another thing is better way of using moves like being able to use certain moves in certain conditions. Also they should have a cooler looking and easier way of warping. I hope you like my ideas[no Af characters!].Say the freakin release date already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I also agree with what everyones saying about training your custom character and such. I also agree with no boundaries and new things that happen when you get stronger flying rocks, ground breaks etc. In this game i think they can make so many more improvements so come on Atari/Spike/Bandai/who ever is making this game out there! Hurry up and tell us what we have all been waiting for. The release date!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what about more blood the distrution disc is unbluchable right it will cut you in pieces right then let that happen also youmust learn new abeleties you starded as a weaklin you must train to get stronger that why i sea that when you are playin online it must be conected to some company they can created new moves+atacks and more,the distruction disc may cut picolo arm off well if he is realy strong and well trained he will have the abelity to let some part of his body grows back,also no me stupid healing bars make it next gen you train you get more powerful that mean when a weaklin hit you nothing happend,also two player battles must be yust a option in the game,you guys most focus yust to make the dbz world and the gameplay i think i asked to much but think about it!look at gta4 copied theyr style i lil bit,and focus on makin a real dbz game when daylight,night,rainyday,winter,come on atary i whant this before i died,make or wishes to reality,it dont matter if the first game its not perfect,cus all the gamers that like a dbz game would buy it cus that its next gen that its dragon ball z if you guys dont have the power the balls to make that game then let me do it or others players hire us to give you guys ideas forget about the anime lets break the rules and make something new its time to make dragon ball z advance fight
