While looking through Guitar Hero 3’s Xbox Live Leaderboards, a Scorehero forumer found (with photographic proof) nine songs not in the game that are meant to be released as downloadable content along with the three battle songs for scoring. Expect each band’s songs to be sold separately as a 3-song pack. Like in our Guitar Hero 3 74 songs list, I’ve linked to videos for each song.
The list is as follows:
1. All My Life (Foo Fighters)
2. The Pretender (Foo Fighters)
3. This Is A Call (Foo Fighters)
4. Slither (Velvet Revolver)
5. She Builds Quick Machines (Velvet Revolver)
6. Messages (Velvet Revolver)
7. Tom Morello (Guitar Boss Battle)
8. Slash (Guitar Boss Battle)
9. The Devil Went Down to Georgia (Guitar Boss Battle)
10. Carcinogen Crush (AFI, comes with the Guitar Hero CD / Companion Pack)
11. Tina (Flyleaf, comes with the Guitar Hero CD / Companion Pack)
12. Putting Holes In Happiness (Marilyn Manson, comes with the Guitar Hero CD / Companion Pack)
Keep in mind that only PS2 owners of the game cannot download extra song packs, everyone else will be able to get these… at a so far unknown price. The previous Guitar Hero 2 downloads cost $6.25 for each pack on the Xbox 360, and since those have been downloaded over 650,000 times, I wouldn’t expect Activision to change the price.
Update November 7: Activision has officialy announced the downloadable songs will be coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 first in November 2007.
Update November 8: Two song packs online for download from the Xbox 360’s Xbox Live Marketplace!

GH needs a metal version with bands like killswitch engage, as i lay dying, caliban, i killed the prom queen, all that remains, still remains, august burns red…….It needs to be more tech for the more hardcore metal fans
thats all?? no AC/DC led zeppelin or more metallica that sucks!!!!
Idon’t even know 1/4 of the bands in the extra songs list. How about some Alice in Chains, STP, AC/DC, Van Halen, Seether, Saliva, Drowning Pool, and just a lot more new Hard Rock. It would also be cool to have a METALLICA ONLY GH. Aerosmith is cool but at least poll people… I bet Metallica would have won by a land slide.
I wouldn’t mind jamming out to some pantara, BLS, and some Hell yeah…
I would LOVE if they put some Bullet For My Valentine on there, and some Funeral For A Friend, and maybe even 3 Doors Down. I want something with amazing solos like in most of the BFMV songs.
NO AC/DC!!!!!!!!! that’s just not right in my book.
ok we really need more metal like you all say some BFMV, pantera and some puddle of mudd with some other kick ass bands there are alot of good songs out there and guitar hero 4 better have them if guitar hero three dosnt let us download then i am a punk metal alternative emo dude and i need a fix of my music on guitar hero i may not be good at it but i have a hell of a great time playing it
if a metallica only gh came out i wud buy it, but they shud really consider the songs they put on there games, i wasnt even born when some of these songs came out. more metal 4 sure…pantera, slipknot, devildriver, (older not the new stuff)KORN, sevendust, S.O.D., coal chamber, and drowning pool. just put heavy metal music on it… i mean im not emo….and try to appeal to a different croud…country music guitar hero lol
It’s great. The best
roughneck, think about it. All metal songs are sure to have long, fast, hard chord progressions and whacked-out solos that only addicts can play on the harder difficulties. The game has to get harder and harder progressively or else critics will dismiss it for its 90 degree learning curve, and it won’t sell at all, plus it won’t be fun for people who don’t invest a lot of time in it. Don’t get me wrong, I love heavy metal, but a metal only guitar hero just won’t happen. The bands you mentioned would be good download tracks though.
And also, older music from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s is way better than the crap we get now!
