To me this is a true resident evil movie.

I personally hated the live action movies. I would of liked the movies if they didn’t have the title Resident Evil on it. HELL I would of liked the movies if they didn’t put ANY characters in the games in it. That way they could of made it seem it was like a side story.

Fun Fact, the original screenplay of the live action RE movie had Chris and Jill.

I am so excited about Resident Evil Degeneration!!!!!

That’s why I liked the first one, because they made up their own prequel to the series and it simply connected the Spencer Estate to the Underground facility from RE2 and it worked. Then Zero came out and debunked all of that, unfortunately. I dunno, as much as I like the giant leech monster at the end, I’d have to choose the ‘prequel’ with Milla over the prequel with the really lame voice acted old man behind it all. What was with that voice?? I digress.

As for Romero’s script, he had the characters, but they were practically name only. He must have thought Chris Redfield was related to Johnny Redcorn, because he made him some Native American. I’m glad Romero didn’t get to helm it, sure the premises of his movies are interesting and sure he reinvented the zombie genre, but I’ve grown to like his movies less and less as I get older. The characters and dialogue stink to high heaven. I digress, yet again.

I am looking forward to this one, tho! Should be fun!

Well, a few things to say. And mainly to the responses about the cg movie.
First off, I AM a true fan of the games, and thought the movies , for the most part, were pretty good. GET OFF IT people, the movies are a whole seperate thing. To think a movie is horrible JUST BECUASE it didnt follow the game is stupidity. Look at how many movies dont follow the books that came before it, yet the movie was made after the book, that doesnt make it a horrible movie, just a little different. A movie coming out after a book just puts a new perspective on the book, movies and games are the same.
Secondly, one of you said that finally there will be a movie about the game the way capcom intended it to be. Well, either capcom like their ideas or they were in it just for the money since the producing company had to get rights from capcom to make the movies. So, i guess either way anyone that is a “true fan” according to this imbeciles statement should just stop playing the games since they are either a sell out or aparently have no vision of what their movies should be.
Me personally, i think the movies were good, only a narrow minded person would think that a movie is terrible just because it doesnt follow its game.
I LOVE the games, the movies AND will DEFINATLEY get the cg. come on , its resident evil, OF COURSE well all buy it. lol

I FIND ALL OF YOUR COMMENTS TO BE PRETTY ENTERTAINING. I LOVE THE RE GAMES. I’VE READ EVERY BOOK. AND I’VE SEEN EVERY MOVIE. ITS TRUE, THE MOVIES MIGHT HAVE BEEN LACKING A LOT OF INFORMATION, BUT NON-GAMERS SEEM TO LIKE IT. I, TOO WAS DISSAPOINTED WHEN THE FIRST RE FILM CAME OUT. I EXPECTED SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.
BUT BEING THE RE FAN THAT I AM, I STILL PURCHASED ALL OF THE MOVIES. I LEARNED EVERYTHING THERE WAS TO KNOW ABOUT BOTH OF THESE RE VERSIONS. I ALWAYS WANTED AN ANIMATED FILM OF RE TO COME OUT. I THOUGHT, HEY IF THE GAMES SCARE THE CRAP OUT OF ME, WHY WOULDN’T AN ANIMATED FILM? I WAS SO EXCITED WHEN I FIRST HEARD OF THIS CGI FILM. I WILL BE WAITING ANXIOUSLY FOR IT’S RELEASE.

Finally, a movie that will do justice to the characters of Resident Evil we all love! Leon Kennedy, Claire Redfield… rumor has it Albert Wesker… It’s about time! The other movies were an absolute embarassement because they messed up the established plots and characters so bad. Thank God for this new one!! From the look of it, it’s going to become the “Advent Children” of the RE fanbase. I absolutely can’t wait to see this movie!

I’m curious about something. Was there as much animosity towards those Steve Perry Resident Evil books as there is towards the movies? I think the movies are miles better than those awful books, but that’s just me. I guess the books lucked out because they came out when the ‘net wasn’t quite so densely populated.

I certainly hope this RE movie is the ‘Advent Children’ of the franchise, because I LOVED AC. I’m sure graphics wise it won’t be up to Square Enix standards (which are the top notch.. better than Pixar IMO, or any US CGI company for that matter), but even if it looks like RE4, I’d find that highly entertaining.

On a side note concerning RE4, was anyone else really cheesed that Wesker had absolutely NONE of his awesome powers he displayed in CV? When I got him in Mercenaries mode, I was hoping to do some badass stuff, but he just ran around like a ponce in a suit with a sniper rifle. Now, Krauser on the other hand.. whoo boy!

  • LordMalice

ohh man, I honestly didn’t enjoy RE4 , story-wise, it was important, but, I mean the experience, was…gah, well, different. All in all it was good yes, but very different. and Yes, I was pretty disappointed. Really, they left that out completely, even if it would have made things hell of a lot easier, still, he did indeed have awesome powers, amazing strength, endurance, and I would assume, an incredible “amount of health” (talking game-wise). BTW, Wesker’s scenarios in Umbrella Chronicles were amazing. I loved it when on Jill’s scenario, it shows Tyrant ‘kill’ him, then on his scenario he discusses what his plans were with that T-Virus variant.

Hello all I am someone who jumps around forums internet-wide making fun of abreviations, I’m here to make a d*ck of myself because you can tell everyones intellegence by how they type on the internet. I mean come on why not type out the word?! u type you!! Because it shows how smart you are, come on, pretend your 12 again, spelling test incoming, because no one uses abreviations on the internet!
CG movie gonna be the best something that actually is goin to portray the game over some brand new story line from the live-action ones, those were horrible, cmon you know the only reason you were there is because you see Milla. But yes Leon and Claire, the two characters from my favorite installment into the franchise, I so want them to remake RE2 for the Wii with a graphics update like on the GC with RE1. 2008 release is what I heard, hope its soon…..

the res evil films could have been written by children, and if you grew up on george a romero zombie films then as zombie movie’s they were a waste of time. writing that was hard without swearing beacause theye ruined resident evil for me. so i am looking forward to this film i think it will be great.
