Turok: Son of Stone animated film announced for 2008
Turok is getting set to enter the animated film world with Turok: Son of Stone, a new feature film that stars the popular Native American dino-killer and will head straight to DVD in early 2008 to coincide with the rebirth of Turok in the video game realm.
As is evidenced by the trailer below, the movie will not be pulling any punches when it comes to blood and violence, even though it’s animated look could very well be coming from a Disney studio (given that Disney does own the rights to the upcoming Turok video game). Another cool touch is the fact that the Turok in this movie is not the commando from the upcoming game, but rather the Indian-like Turok of old from the Nintendo 64 titles and the Turok comics (read my Turok: Dinosaur Hunter review for more info on the original N64 Turok game). This is cool because while commandos can do some damage, there’s no replacing a bad-ass Indian dino-killer!
The Unreal-powered Turok game (with a Turok demo coming soon) is slated to hit the Xbox 360 and PS3 in February of 2008 and revive the franchise! Can’t wait! ![]()
